Getting started tuning with mspnp

I have a 91 with a 1.6 and mspnp installed. i have no intercooler. i have no afm, i have a gm iat instead. i read through the megamanual and im not sure what section pertains to mspnp. i also read through the miataturbo wiki here:

Miata Turbo FAQ: Megatune Setup

also with the same problem. I guess my question now is does this wiki pertain to mspnp? what are the first steps i need to do. i believe that i need to flash new firmware because i think mine is outdated but im not quite sure. What is my first step?
my thought was to first make sure i have the proper firmware. then i was going to run the 90-93 without afm base tune. that is where im stuck. From what i have read I am going to mainly be changing my afr and timing. From what i understand the spark map is to be left alone unless i have access to a steady state dyno?
Any help as to my first couple of steps would e greatly appreciated. Im continuing to read more but just didnt want to start changing settings and messing up my car.

So... did you read the manual that comes with the MSPNP? I'm betting that's where your answers lie.

flash the "noAFM" firmware by following the directions in the mspnp manual. Then it will run fine.

Next, read the megamanual a few times, then road tune for AFR and enrichments...but its close to as good as you can get it with road tuning.

Yes, get the car tuned on an eddy control dyno, its really worth extra effort for eddy control, DIYautotune is not fucking around. However you have so much to learn that you should try to make friends with someone who can teach you this. Good luck, don't fuck up.
