HELP, VVT error
 

Need help, I did a VVT swap into a 90 miata. Everything went well, base map works great, engine starts, idles, and runs very well, but I get a "VVT err 1" that I can't seem to clear. I checked that the VVT works mechanically, there is 12v power and the control wire is wired to the AUX connector. When I switched off the "range check measured angles" in tuner studio the error went away but I still get no VVT control. Not sure where to go from here, any help would be appreciated.
