Misfire cylinder 2 and 4

Ok I’m going to write this as calmly as possible. 3 days ago I installed an ms2pnp on my 1999 miata. I thought it would be easy but Jesus I was wrong. The car has an adjustable timing wheel from fm set at 14btdc. Knowing this I adjusted my timing regardless from 10btdc and retarded it on the main appropriatly to read at 10btdc with the timing light on the notch. I noticed a rougher idle and I burnt fuel coming from my exhaust. I then redownloaded the last eat firmware and then a new base 1999 map for my ecu. Reset the timing hooked up an AEM x-series wideband to the options port (set accordingly), and installed a gem iat sensor (set as well). Car still ran like garbage. I fiddled with the fuel maps and crank pulses and now it runs better but far worse than stock. I noticed each time I get on throttle hard the afr read 10 which is it minimum display and smells of fuel fill the air. I then advanced my timing on the ignition map thinking it was too low. No dice. Ran stronger and no longer smelled like fuel but my car still goes to 10 afr. I then checked for misfires. Turns out my cylinders 2 and 4 blink slowly with the timing light while 1 and 3 are fast and normal. Why is this a problem and I don’t know where to go from here. I know it’s the MegaSquirt as I rechecked with stock ecu and both are fine. Does anybody for the love of all that is holy have an answer? I just want my car to work with this in a NA setup.
