MS2PNP settings for sequential spark with COPs
I have just installed the trackspeed COP kit on my 95miata with the MS2PNP. the kit was wired for sequential spark and I have run 2 wires back to the MS2PNP with cyl 3 being pin 16 and cyl 4 being pin 14. Cylinder 4 is not firing.
Can someone help me with the spark option settings or tell me if I need to adjust any jumpers on the board so the cyl 4 will trigger. Thank you very much. |

Is the MSPNP2 wired for sequential ignition?

I'm curious: did you honestly believe that if you wired it for seq. spark without telling the MS to now fire 4 spark drivers instead of 2 it was going to work?
You should have wired: Cly 1 to Spark A - OEM (Brn/Yllw) Cly 2 to Spark D - Pin 14 Cly 3 to Spark B - OEM (Brn) Cly 4 to Spark C - Pin 15 Then you have to change the ignition settings from wasted spark to coil on plug of course. |
The information that was given to me from Trackspeed was
Cyl 1 br/yl Cyl 2 br Cyl 3 pin 16 Cyl 4 pin 14 I did make the change in tuner studio With firing order being 1,3,4,2 I dont see how this can work and thats why I am asking the forum for help. |
Andrew might have forgot about the firing order?
1,3,4,2 A,B,C,D |

I suppose you do and on jumper set 12. Then you'll need to make sure that you don't have output conflicts that are already using ALED and WLED. (im sure fan is on one of those).
The MS2 runs out of i/os fast when you do seq. fuel and spark. |

whatevz. how i suggest makes sense, since you're altering wiring anyway, you can make it so A nd B outputs go to 2 and 3 through stock wiring, and just need to run the 2 extra for C and D.

I just want to resolve this so I can race. I appreciate the help really I do however I went down this path because written instructions said cyl 1 br/yl. And cyl 2 br so I got stuck on cylinder number not spark abcd. Sorry to upset anyone
|
Braineack thanks for your help
So here is what I have Cyl 1 spark a br/yl. Trackspeed wh Cyl 2 spark D pin 14 trkspd orange Cyl 3 spark B brown. Trkspd blue Cyl 4 spark C pin 15. Trackspd green Jump 9, 10, 12&13 per diy and changed ms to cop Car is not running properly. Can you or anyone see issues with above |
Have you confirmed that it is setup for seq spark. As in the extra hardware needed.

Determine whether you have 2 or 4 ignition drivers.

Trackspeed did the harness, has nothing to do with the drivers. You need to figure out if your ECU was optioned for sequential ignition before you troubleshoot the harness.

What brain said. Use output mode and see if all spark plugs are firing. |
output test mode.
should have been doen before you tried to start the car: Megasquirt MS2/Extra Output Testing make sure all the plugs are firing and are firing on the correct cly. |
Thx I will do that later today however one thing that now stands out is I am running a 99 motor with CAS and no trigger wheel so not sure if that's a deal breaker on this or not.
The ecu is optioned for sequential |
no that doesnt matter. you can run seq. spark on all miatas 90-15.
