MSPNP 1.6 new setup help
My apologies for the newb post, but here it goes...
I currently have an NA with a TD04H running 5-6psi with the FPM setup. It runs great now, so at least i have that going for me. I am about to order some new goodies, and was curious what y'all thought about the setup. Here is my tentative order: MSPNP MS Electronic Boost control (I assume you control this through TunerStudio) AEM 02 wideband ID1000 Injectors I already have a walbro, so the idea of this was to run these massive injectors to git rid of that crappy Vortex FPM, and be able to push enough fuel to run 10-15psi. I do have a stock head, so i don't anticipate running more than 10-12 for now. I guess my real question is, given the following mods that are already in the car, would there be any other/better suggestions for my much needed Fuel management to take this miata to my 10-12 psi goals? Also, keep in mind that this is a 90% street car that I use daily, and occasionally will take to lap days. Currently in the car: Flyin'Miata level 2 clutch Flyin'Miata light weight FW Torsen Rear end TD04H Turbo Flyin'Miata 3" Full Exahust with FM Cat Vortec FPM Walbro 255Lph fuel pump (pretty sure its not the HP version) Blitz BOV Manual Boost control Ebay Intercooler Performance Radiator MSD Ignition Advance (under boost) Dual feed fuel rail Any advice would be great. Thanks again! |
1000 cc injectors are about twice as much as you'll need for that pressure. We've currently got ~500 cc injectors from Fuel Injector Clinic in ours and we're running more boost.
Yes, you would control the boost valve through TunerStudio. |
I have heard that these idle very well, unlike some others. Plus the idea of running E85 was cool. Looking at the math, it seems i'll need at least 600cc's to get 300bhp, and 725cc's for about 350bhp witch is pretty much what i am after down the road with a good head to support it. So I figured to go with the ID1000's since I have heard nothing but good things about them.
Anyone know what rwhp to expect from the stock head before blowing it up? I thought i remember reading on here somewhere that about 12psi is all that is should run, 10psi to be safe. What typical rwhp does that amount to? |
This was just assuming standard 43psi fuel pressure, since i am not exactly sure what walbro is in the tank. I'll try to get some actual measurements soon

Any advice on what RWHP to expect from 10-12psi on a stock 1.6 head? And to that, is that pretty much the top end safe boost for the stock head? I can't imagine running 15+ on the stock head...
