Need help to get the ball rolling

I have been trying to get my car going after to the rebuild. I did a little searching around but came up with nothing. Does anyone have a Map I can base my tune off of?

92 Miata 1.6
Megasuirt PnP G2
T28 turbo 10psi
450cc injectors
Maf delete
Aem Wideband
Exhaust
Bigger fuel pump

Thanks in advance

yes. the mspnp comes with a base map

jankymiata 08-17-2015 11:20 AM

It has a base map for a stock miata it barely starts my car if you touch the throttle it dies.

Sounds like you need to tune your car and set up your ECU for the parts you have on your car.

This.

Either tune your car or have someone tune it.

helpful.
just trying to get it running enough to get it on the trailer and up on the dyno.

We are 100% serious and not kidding when we say that there is literally nothing another person's tune will do for you unless you have 100% the same car, same setup, same weather, etc. It's about as useless as a base map in that regard.

You'll need to tell megasquirt that you don't have stock injectors.

If you are using the base map, make sure its the without AFM base map. If I remember correctly, there was one with AFM and one without. And yes, you have to change your settings in tunerstudio to compensate for the bigger injectors those things are flowing a lot more gas than the base map was tuned for... 1.6 injectors are 230cc I believe.

I started with the base map changed for the bigger injectors and required fuel in engine settings (6.0 required fuel) car will only start and idle at 16.5

To get it to idle the ve table has to be in the 80s all over or up which obviously makes it stupid rich but I can't step it down with out it just dieing

I'm not sure what setting is wrong but I feel as if the it's not picking up after market parts..

Which injectors do you have?
Whats your injector deadtime?

jankymiata 08-17-2015 10:08 PM

Deatschwerks 450cc injectors
There spec sheet says
min. Pulse width is 1.1ms
Coil impedance 14.2 ohm

jankymiata 08-17-2015 10:16 PM

The base map preloaded on the ecu for miatas has:

Spark mode(dizzy,EDIS,wheel) 4g63

Does that seem right? They have a setting for Miata 99-00 and Miata 36-2

I feel like it should be on Miata 36-2

Well this is my tune. I'm also running a mspnp gen2 on a 1990 1.6. However I am running 425cc yellow denso RX8 injectors and converted to sequential inj. and wasted cops. also have a bmw vtps. You can atleast compare some settings to what you have. Hope this helps for something...

oh and my tables only go up to 100 kPa:)

(Use my settings at your own risk)

Yes, it should be 4g63.

Only if you have put in a Flyin' Miata 36-2 crank sensor and an NB cam sensor. Have you?

Don't mess with the VE table if it won't even idle. Load the basemap again, if a 6.0 Req Fuel runs too lean, keep bumping it up until the car idles at ~14:1. Then try to drive around taking it easy. You want to adjust Req Fuel until the car is a little on the rich side at different speeds/load, then you can start tweaking the VE table as needed.
