Quick question on VE table resolution
Running NA (no boost) with my cleaned NB2 injectors that allegedly run at 282 at 43.5psi thus running at ~330 at 60psi. I used the REQ calculator and pegged it at 300 so to make the change not too drastic. Therefor, REQ = 10.1.
The highest value on my table is ~100 at 100kPa and 6500rpm. I've heard that you could get more resolution by fiddling with the REQ values. I just wanted to make sure I had this right... Target max value as 250. 250/100 = 2.5. 10.1/2.5 = 4.04. Change REQ to 4.04, and multiply entire VE table by 2.5? "Profit" from higher resolution for finer tuning? I'm not "there" yet with my tune at its current state, but wanted to make sure I had this idea correct. Cheers! |
but do you have 60 psi or 43?
you left out some details. |
ps ive never seen a negative trade score.
|
Car's an NB1 with nothing changed (aside from NB2 injectors) so allegedly 60psi.
And as far as the score...yeah it's from my younger years. Buyer got mad since I backed out after saying "deal" - since I sold locally and refunded him his money. Haven't bought or sold since :D |
Understood, on all fronts.
to answer your question, I dont think that adds any resolution. Thats just changing a multiplayer IMO. Adding more places in X and Y axis would add resolution. interested to hear from others. |
Resolution was a thing with MS1, which, I understand had only whole numbers. like "127". Newer MS have decimal... like "127.3", which has already increased resolution by 10 fold. If you have MS2 or 3, or perhaps the High - Res upgrade to MS1, there is not value in increasing the resolution by 2.5.
|
Oh... then that settles that. Is there a way for tables to show the decimals? I know the afrs do... but not sure with VE. It seems to round up.
|
It should take any number you input.
|
IIRC you don't get decimals until MS3
|
Looks like I spoke out of ignorance. Perhaps only MS3 has 4 places (3 + decimal).
In that case, yes. Divide ReqFuel by 2.5 and multiply table by 2.5. Fueling equation comes out the same. My apologies. EDIT: Yes, I looked up the MS2 Manual. |
Awesome thankyou. And then if when I go turbo... undo it all for the same reason.
|
Dont do it in the first place ;)
an accurate VE table is the key to a good tune. The 1 bit increase in resolution won't really do much for you. |
