Transferring map to different ecu
Hey MiataTurbo,
My 92 chassis got into an accident and there is no way to recover my lost, besides taking the parts (engine,mspnpv2, suspension, exhaust, etc) and transferring into another shell. Luckily, a friend of mine is donating me his spare chassis (94 M edition - OBD1 w/ CAS) because he has no use for it. The M edition has a mspnp2 and no engine. I will be also be transferring some harness plugs and sensors (NB IAC, NB TPS, CAS) Is it possible for me to swap my engine into the m edition and use my tuned map from my 92 chassis/mspnpv2? Would it be a better solution to swap my 92 engine harness into the m edition? [extra information - 92 chassis] 99 head 99 block 95 drive train (transmission, axles, differential, subframe, etc) CAS from a 94 Toyota Cops (will be switching to fab9 cops but for the 94 harness) NB IAC (wired to 92) NB TPS (wired to 92) IAT sensor (AFM/MAF deleted) BorgWarner EFR 6758 Custom intake/exhaust manifold SuperMiata Harmonic Balancer for CAS |
Your particular map was calibrated for that particular setup, so keeping the components together with the map would be ideal.

if you can wire up everything the same, it'll work. you can probably splice the harness to be what you need but it might not be fun.
ultimately if the same motor is in the car, the MS doesn't have a problem with that as long as it knows where to get sensor data and send spark and fuel pulses. |
