Tuner Studio - Basic Questions
Car; 1996
MSPNP w/MAF I'm completely new to this and have a few basic questions, so please dumb down your answers to my level. :loser: When I'm starting a new project, what's my "ECU Definition?" Is that my firmware? I've been selecting MS/Extra_format hr_10 ******* and it seems to be working, but i'm really not exactly sure what I'm doing here. The other thing is i adjusted my x/y axis bins to better suit the operating conditions i care about, but when i did that it didn't adjust any of the actual cells. x-axis (rpm) is currently set at 900/1300/2000/3000/4000/5300/5700/6000/6300/6600/6900/7200 it's an SCCA ITA car which for class rules will remain normally aspirated, and will keep the MAF in place. and since it's a race car, any operation below 5000rpm will be because i screwed somewhere, so this is my roundabout way of increasing resolution. anyway....what i'm thinking of doing before i head to the dyno tomorrow is adjust the base tables manually to suit the new bin values. for example, if the base table had a value of 70 in the VE table for a given kPA @ 6000rpm, and 80 for the same kPA @ 7000rpm, then can i reasonably enter in a value of 75 for the new 6500rpm bin i've created? thanks for the help. |
this is how i made my first map going from a 12x12 table to a 16x16...TS has an interpolate button, fwiw.

Neil?

i do remember seing that interpolate button, and if i open up TS and click it now nothing happens. do i need to be connected to the ECU for this to work? i can't quite work out in my head how it would work....but i'm new to this stuff.

you have to highlight cells for it to work...like if you have a blank column, highlight the three columns with the blank in the middle and it will fill in the gaps between.

that makes sense. thank you.
