unsteady idle with mspnp starting map.
I started my mspnp on my 1.6. everything is working fine. The car runs alot smoother. there is a very noticible difference in power form 3-4k. after i drive it for a little bit and it warms up, when i stop at a stop light, the idle sometimes bounces from 800 rpm's to like 1200 rpms and does so until i take off. and ideas what might be causing this. the car is all stock.

Richen up the idle cells? Also, find the "great AC FAQ" and do the settings Joe Perez posts. Even w/o AC, this helps.

If that's the case, I should probably try a better mount for mine. IIRC we used a brass HD fitting which I "machined" down a bit with Ben's Dremel.

because of the placement of the intake and the sensor on NA cars the IAT's are crazy high. That will make the thing lean out fuel and cause that undulating idle.

So, maybe instead of having the sensor to the viewer's right of the throttle body, as here:

Actually you should move it to right after the IC in front of the radiator so it's not in the path of all that hot air off the rad. I moved mine there a few friends' setups and eliminated the heat soaking while idling issue.

ill try doing the things joe posted. also, as a side note, completely off topic. i have an lc1 sitting in my bedroom waiting to be installed. is there anyway that i can install it before i put in my turbo without modifying my exhaust pipe. i dont want to pay to have that done when im going tuirbo shortly once i built up enough balls to go out in the cold and i get a few days to do it.

I believe that my s-kit with mspnp and lc1 with db blue gauge came with the IAT sensore thingy. i thought it was like $30 dollars extra but i guess it came with it. i think i may put it in before i go turbo and use th k&n cone filter the kit came with and get rid of that damn box. any suggestions on what kind of pipe to use to mount the iat sensor?

You're still gonna have the same problem if you put the gm iat sensor anywhere behind the radiator. I've tapped pvc, aluminum, and steel pipes and screwed the sensor right in. As you can see in Brain's pick he opted to JB Weld the included bung to the pipe and screw the sensor into that.

where is the best place to get a 12v switched source from for the wbo2 sensor. and what color is the wire? also, how do i go about connecting the wbo2 to my mspnp. i dont know which wire connects to the ms. id rather not rip out my carpet again. is there a way to tap into the wire i need elsewhere?

So many questions. So little reading of the MS pages on this forum.
Many people opt to draw power from the MAF wiring harness. I don't know which wire it is. I choose to use the blue plug behind the driver side headlight. It's +12v and only on with ignition. You can connect the wideband through the factory O2 wiring harness. That or run the one wire to inside the cabin and connect to pin 10 on the middle connector. 2nd wire from the left on the bottom row. |

I think it would be cooler if I put it in the bottom of the radiator tank... Gonna tap the intercooler tank and screw it in there over christmas. |
