02 Sensor location on Turbo Tony DP
 

Ok, I searched the forum and came up with this:
"Rule of thumb, 1600F is a pretty reasonable "max" for cruise or boost."

since i'll be retarding from 12 to 6 with a MSD, on a 1º per pound of boost scale, and this brings the EGT to higher temperatures, the question is:
Can a AEM Wideband 02 deal with the heat if placed just a bit below the turbo? Tony told me he made the bung a bit down for FM Heat Shield clearance, but it will still be close. Or as a general rule, it should always be placed further away?

I'm just asking cause from what i read before, as the EG go into the DP and expand, they cool off, therefore in my understanding this would cause misreadings from the wideband? Or am i just talking shit, and the location down below is not a problem and my wideband can still give me accurate info?

I would add another bung on top of the DP, before the cat for the WBO2

so use 2 you mean?
stock goes to start of DP, and down near the cat fit the wideband.
and which one do i use to connect to the ecu?

and sorry with all the questions, but why should i keep both if only one connects to the stock ecu?

Narrowband to the ECU and monitor with the wideband. If you insist on using the narrowband simulator to feed the ECU, put a blank bung in the top hole.

i see. there's no benefit to the stock ecu from getting a more accurate reading from a wideband. it will behave just the same, right?

The narrowband, to me, is preferable since it is a chemical reaction and not subject to change where a WBO2 can go out of calibration. The ECU will behave the same with either if they are accurate.
