13 club edition 2.5/ Fab9 build

1 Attachment(s)
Just finished my 3rd turbo build. Started with a 2013 Club PRHT Edition In pearl white.

She’s got Ohlins coil--overs, 17” RFP1s with Michelin Pilot Super Sports In 245 width.

The stereo system stem is a Kenwood Excelon DVD with JL Audio components in the doors and parcel shelf, 900/5 amp and a kicker sub. The car is connected via Maestro RR which retains steering wheel controls and allows the Kenwood to display gauges. In the far left vent is the SGC-1 gauge displaying afr and boost.

The motor is a 30k 2.5 from a late model Fusion. Turbo kit is from Fab9- Gleason manifold, EFR 6758, custom prototype intake manifold, 3” Stainless exhaust all the way back. All V-band. LARGE Treadstone intercooler, CSF Aluminum radiator, ACT clutch and flywheel, dynotronics tuning via ECUTEK cable, large injectors, fuel pump, yada yada.

The battery has been relocated to the trunk. CarbonMiata floor mats should be here any day.

Now for some pics:

The 2.5's on boost usually see 350whp on a dynojet on 15psi and 93 pump gas. Carnut will likely get a nice bump from that intake manifold, and I wager he may try pushing more than 15 pounds into it...

'Sup Nut! Glad to see you over here on the MT side :)

carnut169 01-24-2018 07:44 AM

Thanks guys.

Yeah, between 350 and 400. Had the EBC set to 4% duty cycle.... Joe wanted a couple full throttle runs and I hit 23psi (whoops). Turned the duty cycle to 0% and now seem to be peaking at 18ish. It’s super super quick.

1-2-3 happens quick. Just hang on and shift. In 4th- 6th it feels like a Tesla s if you’ve ever had the pleasure. I’ll get it on a dyno after joe works his magic.

I assume you are on the stock 4.1 rear? Are you considering going with a 3.7 or something else?

carnut169 01-24-2018 04:52 PM

You bet. After the wallet recovers from this build!

albuquerquefx 01-24-2018 05:42 PM

If you're hitting 18psi on spring pressure (EBC = 0% duty, assuming no gain and also solenoid engagement at 0psi) then you may want to check the WG preload and back it out a few millimeters.

carnut169 01-24-2018 06:27 PM

That will be a treat to access.

Preload is really easy to get to. It's a (IIRC) 9mm nut, you'll need two box-end wrenches to make the adjustment. Jacking the car up onto stands will take longer than the adjustment itself. You could probably just put it off until your next oil change.

well.... I was shipped the wrong exhaust housing. It was for an external wastegate, not an internal one. Not fab9’s fault- he was billed for the right one and the wrong one was drop shipped. I didn’t know as I’d never used an EFR before and was just told that the wastegate was in there.

Hooked up the ebc to the port on the bov (looks almost identical to the wastegate in innovate’s instructions). So I’m not sure how I didn’t really see a big boost spike unless the way the bov was plumbed created some air leakage. Thank god for that! I had zero boost control!

pullednthe housing tonight- little pita but not horrible. Bryan is sending the correct version. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6770d21c5.jpegIf you get this one, don’t install it!
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e88bba3ce.jpegWaiting for the proper housing...
