Now that I found and fixed the problem, here's a new question: what can I do to prevent it from happening again? The metal TB elbow goes into a short silicone hose, which goes to the intake manifold. I have two T-bolt clamps on there, per FM's instructions. They're as tight as possible without slipped their teeth. Thinking aloud: maybe I'll see if TurboTim can weld something up vs. using the silicone hose.

some hairspray on the end and or welding a bead on the elbows to give greater holding capacity.

Hairspray or just a dab of krazy glue is good stuff IME.
Honestly though, if you have good clamps on a beaded end that should not be happening anyway. Do you have a ton of engine movement or something? |
