anyone running greddy w/ link

anyone running a link with boost control solenoid?

jayc72 04-30-2007 11:43 PM

Yup. Don't have the boost control setup yet. Still coarse tuning, but WOW does it rock. Car is 100X smoother than the AFPR/EMB setup.

Pitlab77 05-01-2007 02:00 PM

I did, but I had an old style AVC-R to handle my boost

cyee 05-01-2007 03:07 PM

I am, but I'm running it on duty cycle percentages rather than boost target.

This will be my 3rd season running a GReddy and Link.

I'm having trouble running with the solenoid. what is a good boost controller to use?

turbopezz 05-12-2007 11:39 PM

ive been having trouble with the link boost controller.
i think there might have been a defective batch.

What problem are you having? When did you purchase the link? I haven't spent a lot of time with mine (checking the wiring ... etc) but I haven't been able to get it to do squat. I'm hoping it is wiring or that I'm using the wrong ports on the solenoid.

naturalboost 05-13-2007 11:31 AM

I'm looking into a possible grounding issue. I started by testing to see of the solenoid work by hooking it up to a 12v source. it seemed to work so I think my problem may be the a ground or the link itself.

just installed a manual boost controller set for 15psi. OMG!!!!!!!!!
Can't what to dyno it to see how much more hp it's running since last time. it's nice to here the wheels chirp in 3rd gear. Any ways just though I'd share my excitement.

Slidin'Miata916 05-28-2007 09:19 PM

What kind of manual boost controller did you use?

turbopezz 05-29-2007 02:08 AM

update..i still cant get the pos link boost controller to work..im going to just get a ball and spring setup.

jayc72 did you get yours to work?

jayc72 05-29-2007 10:24 AM

Haven't spent any time with it yet. Hope to over the weekend. I just loath the thought of tearing into the wiring again.

Neither did you. What problems are you guys having?

Yeah, I'm curious as well. If the solenoid and the Link ECU art both working, then they should get some kind of response by using either boost target or duty cycle settings using the EBC built into the link.

I went with duty cycle percentages because I ran out of patience with getting a steady boost curve using the boost target method. In both cases though, I was able to raise and lower boost successfully using the Link ECU.

It does nothing. Seem like the link isn't activating the solenoid at all. Next step is to go back to the wiring and confirm that it is done correctly and that no wires have come loose. If it looks good I'll replace the solenoid with a test lamp.

I used duty cycle as well because I couldn't get a good boost curve nailed down with the EBC. I thought everything was fine until the day I jumped on the dyno and ran 18-19 psi on my little T25 (it was always 14-15 on the street during testing). After that it was back to letting the Link handle everything. It isn't as pretty but it is consistant.
