BEGI Heatshield for 1.6 fit problems?
 

Got the piece from BEGI a little while ago, beautiful workmanship. Tig welded porn, most certianly worth the $80. However ...

The only problem is I can't get it to fit. Anyone have any tips? I've bent the heater hose pipe back towards the firewall as far as I (comfortably) can and I still have issues. The heater pipe is in the way and I can't line up the back mounting tab with the hole on the firewall shelf.

If anyone has any experience with this part let me know, I'm open to any suggestion.

Yup, I'm working on it with Stephanie, but thought that more input might be helpful.

I cut a 2"X1" notch in the back over the water lines where they drop behind the DP. The aluminum cuts like butter. I also used a 1.5" rubber spacer underneath the back bolt. Fits great now.
