Begi Intake Pipe for Greddy?
I am still in searching of the best position for my AFM.
Since - its in the way for me to install Front Tower bar - Bring the intake forward closer to the headlight air duct. Has anyone fab a piece that looks like BEGI 1.6 KIT for Greddy turbo? http://www.bellengineering.net/Image...sAirFlow_1.jpg |
most people just attach the AFM directly onto the turbo inlet. Most likely that puts your intercooler pipes in the way.
Even with just a 90* you're going to have trouble wedging it in there, without doing a nice "S" pipe like BEGi. I haven't seen anyone do something like that on a greddy and using BEGi's probably wouldn't work. They replaced the pipe with something similar : http://img174.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1000293kf5.jpg now here's the impoartant part, unless you do a 3-point shock tower brace, you really aren't doing anything, and even then, it's just cowl shake/flex. |
I really want to relocate the afm too.
gets too much heat where it is at the mo. |
Wont attaching the AFM to the turbo inlet be too hot?

you know whats funny mimime, i was thinking the EXACT same thing. when i saw that image the other day. but im not sure if its going to clear my intercooler piping the way i have it right now. but im sure if i re-clocked my turbo down and ran new piping that way there would b plenty of room.

I asked Corky if he would make a cold air box for the greddy. He said the idea was "interesting" and asked for drawings/rough mock up/or anything else that would assist him.

It'll be tough to make something universal for the greddy. I know my Starion JamesB I/C pipes are in the way.
|
turbo would need to be clocked like olderguy's
|
I had found clocking the turbo with AC/PS is virtually impossible.
