I havent said anything against the actual turbo parts.. just the fueling issues. Actually if u look at my specific posts towards begi my feedback is just the opposite. My kit has been very reliable.... once i got rid of the xede that is :giggle:.

Its not even beef with begi.. its more like fm as well. They also claim 8-9 psi on stock injectors with their voodoo kits.

I know this is an old post but has anyone actually installed one of these?

jamesr242 11-11-2013 02:13 PM

I'm pretty curious myself. I'm interested running this kit with a MS2 enhanced from Reverant. It's a shame the thread is mostly about the damn reflash since I'm only interested in the hardware...

Maybe I will be the first? I'm debating between this and the S3

triple88a 11-11-2013 10:25 PM

Theres a big difference between this and the S3 kit. Dont think the standard S3 comes with electronics at all. Seeing that he manifold is the same as the rest. I'm guessing the down pipe is too.. i'm very satisfied with the manifold.. hated the downpipe because it was the 2 piece design.. aka lots of leaks until i welded it all around. Then had some rattles but the holes on it are made bigger so you can move it around. Long story short the kit has been very dependable for my street use purposes.

Like I said, I'm just interested in the hardware, so NCE about the electronics in this kit. It's just interesting to me because I want a complete kit and no one else I know of offers one with EWG. I'm still debating if I really need EWG for my power goals (230ish for now and maybe 270-300 if I build the motor). I wanted to run a 3in exhaust though. Probably looking to run a 2560R which is an option on the NB200.

Are you saying you have a BEGI ewg manifold and downpipe? I don't believe BEGI uses the two piece design anymore, but IDK

triple88a 11-12-2013 09:33 PM

Nope i'm using the begi s kit with TRD intercooler. In other words the manifold is the same, the downpipe is whatever u choose.

If you're handy you can get a basic kit and do a diy intercooler of ur choosing.

Perhaps read up on the starter kits.

Chiburbian 11-13-2013 09:24 AM

I may be talking out my ass but I don't believe you need an external wastegate to hit 300hp. I'd go with a cast manifold (S3 for example) kit because even if you plan on upgrading to an ARtech or Absurdflow EWG manifold in the future you can always sell the manifold, downpipe and turbo for a decent penny to finance your next step. Especially if you can get some of the above used.

18psi 11-13-2013 12:42 PM

ewg is not nearly as important for making peak power as it is for controlling boost properly.

triple88a 11-13-2013 10:55 PM

Exactly, having that wastegate closed 100% until you reach your target boost and then having it stay within 5% or whatever of that target is definitely an amazing thing.

Chilicharger665 12-02-2013 09:28 PM

So getting this manifold is what you want to do. A better-than-FM basic build would be a standalone, better injectors, the NB200 manifold, and all the accessories.

The NB200 is a has been. In three weeks all will be obsoleted by large margins. Spec/data/stuff/pics shortly. Nothing remains of yesteryear.

NB200 is a has been but what about your S4/SSM kits?

jestmaty 01-05-2014 04:50 PM

Corky & crew have my NB as a development car for a new turbo system...

Stay tuned for info as Corky divulges it ;)

18psi 01-05-2014 04:53 PM

Meanwhile I'm waiting over a month for an off the shelf downpipe and am about ready to ask for a refund and buy from a company that doesn't lie to people and ignore their emails.

I asked that he take his time and do it right

I'm not saying anything about it at this time, as I don't really bug him for details, so I can't elaborate....

Dropped my car with BEGI on Dec 1, wait till he and/or Stephanie notify me when it's ready to be picked up. Not any big rush, again, I want it done properly, so patience is key

Again, I'm not pestering them, looking over their shoulder, or constantly hitting them with texts/emails.... just letting him use my Miata as a development/project/ r&d car.

I have faith.....

I await your results in 2015.

I can't help but laugh when people like 18psi are waiting on simple parts and it takes months and you actually told them to "take their time". You probably wanted to specify you wanted it before rapture.

As a side note.... why does BEGi need people to donate cars for development? Seriously, thats like FM requesting customer cars to develop on. Even ARTech has spare Miatas around to develop on. I would just think a company that has been dealing with Miatas for such a long time would kind of have a few around to tinker with/develop with.... Obviously I'm missing something

Karter, yes, I think you missed something, or more likely, just aren't familar with the process. I don't own enough Miatas to cover every configuation from 1990 to 2005.

In order to make as many common parts as possible, I need four of five cars to lay out simultaneously. With the differences of motors, throttles, AC lines, C dryers, PWS lines and coolers, brake masters, headlight actuators, ABS brakes, etc, you get the idea.

Every participant gets about $2k discount. There is no jeopardy to anyone's equipment, other than me driving it, of course.

All involved seem to be happy with the procedure. So, what is the problem?
