BEGI-S IAT question

The elbow right before the throttle body has a 1/8 NPT bung. I assume it's for an IAT sensor. I was planning to use a 3/8 NPT GM sensor. Does anyone know of a 1/8 NPT IAT sensor that similar to the GM open element?

It's not. It's for the IAC (idle control valve) hose isn't it?

The one for the iac valve isnt threaded.

Braineack 09-30-2008 11:31 AM

you could get an adapter....or stick some WI in there ;)

I have a 99 which doesn't have an idle control valve hose so I have no reference but that hose looks a lot bigger in pics.

I like the WI idea.

ZX-Tex just drilled and tapped the wall of the inlet tube. I may do that. I need to switch to an IC before next summer so it would be temporary anyway.

Yup- the NA idle air bypass hose is appx. 1/2" ID or so (just eyeballing) and it's a slip-fit. Like Brainey said, a water-injection nozzle is about the only thing I can think of with a 1/8" NPT thread that you'd want to put in that location.

It should be a 3/8NPT. Shoot me an e-mail or PM, and we will get you the correct tube.

That would be great, thanks.

Looks like the Saturn Ion coolant sensor is 1/8" NPT but uses the same connector as the standard one. Useless for me but it might be useful info for someone doing a coolant reroute or some other cramped install.
