I had a chance to meet up with mr and mrs exexx Friday pm after the local meet. Nice folks...

Unfortunately, it was dark, so seeing the fun bits of his new turbo were next to impossible.

He still has a few odds and ends to button up, but it seemed his 8-9000 mile trip that he took literally days after finishing his turbo was relatively uneventful.

Bet you guys didn't know that exexx is prolly in his mid 60's and this dude installed his own stuff, beginning to end.. My hat's off to the fella for climbing around under, over, and all around his miata, installing his turbo kit.

I hope I have that kind of stamina and determination 20 yrs from now :)

I'm still picking his brain about his experience with the quality of parts and interaction with Steph and Corky over at bell engineering... I really want to go turbo by the end of the year!

I'm in process of S3 with GT 2560 440's FM stage I susp on my MSM.
Not done yet but will tune with 14 psi to start and see what it does

* Motorists must successfully pass both the emissions and safety portions of the inspection to obtain an inspection sticker
* Gasoline vehicles model-year 2 through 24 years old are inspected annually beginning with the vehicle's second anniversary

For the Houston area:
Inspection Method: model-year 1996 and newer vehicles are subject to OBD inspections and model-year 1995 and older vehicles are subject to acceleration simulation mode (ASM) inspections.

ASM: A vehicle emissions inspection for nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO) for vehicles model-year 1995 and older. The ASM inspection uses a dynamometer (a set of rollers on which a vehicle's tires rest) which applies an increasing load or resistance to the drive train of a vehicle, thereby simulating actual tailpipe emissions of a vehicle as it is moving and accelerating. The ASM inspection is comprised of two phases.

(1) The 50/15 mode: the vehicle is inspected on the dynamometer simulating the use of 50% of the vehicle's available horsepower at a constant speed of 15 mph

(2) The 25/25 mode: the vehicle is inspected on the dynamometer simulating the use of 25% of the vehicle's available horsepower at a constant speed of 25 mph

OBD: Computer system installed in a vehicle by the manufacturer which monitors the performance of the emission control equipment, fuel metering system, and ignition system. The OBD system detects malfunction or deterioration in performance of components that would cause the vehicle not to meet emissions standards.

Just wait, as San Antonio grows, it will eventually have a degraded air quality that will require implementation of this kind of inspection.

There is oil pressure at 8000RPM. In fact, there is oil pressure at 8700RPM too. I know because I rev my car that high. How high? Reallllllllllllll high.

Did you look at the oil pressure gauge in the picture? :giggle:
