Right now the car hits 7psi at around 3100rpm and slowly climbs to 13.x psi. The wastegate opens fully around 7-9psi. If I incorporate a MBC to have the wastegate open at 12psi will that likely shoot my overboosting up as well? Or because its already over the psi that flapper opens fully it will make no difference aside from aid in spool? I guess I can throw one on and test but if there are any theories I am glad to hear them. I will post a before and after here and maybe in the spool data thread.
7psi Wastegate only spool data: 2000rpm > 0.2psi 2500rpm > 4psi 3000rpm > 6.7psi 3500rpm > 7psi 4000rpm > 7.5psi 4500rpm > 8.2psi 5000rpm > 9psi 5500rpm > 9.4psi 6000rpm > 10psi 6500rpm > 13.8psi 7000rpm > 12.3psi |
And positive it's a 7psi wg?

Ended with this data. Kept the car on the 12 clicks setting but might revert back to wastegate only for safetly.
It seemed like upping the mbc would add to the mid range boost numbers but was slowly spiking peak boost as well. I wanted to get a flatter boost curve but I don't think its possible without the peak boost rising. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1461515556 |
EBC is a better way to go.
