Is BEGI still around?
Sent some emails and contact us forms to BEGI but haven't heard peep for nearly a week? Are they still open for business?

I dont see why not.
Hung out with corky and steph at a friends BBQ about 3 weeks ago. |
They are definitely. I received an email 2 days after i sent it about the new supercharger system.

well if they respond to Contact Forms like they ship turbos, you can expect an answer in 6 months.

They are trying to sell the company. They lack sufficient fabricators for their kits. Amen on 6 months as I had to get my bank involved recently to get back a 60% deposit with them picking up my car, install/tune, then drive it back. The deal was struck over 6 months ago, they took $3300.00 from me and never picked up the car. Full of excuses.
I then tried to get back my deposit 6 months later and they didn't have enough funds in their account....lol! Luckily I have been with my bank for 15 years or so, and they refunded my credit card account and filed a dispute. My personal advice is not to order a kit from them until they have new, more responsible, owners. |
Unfortunately I would have to agree with Miatajunkie...they once had a good name but as of a couple years ago it has been going down hill...i shipped my car to them for a dyno tune and some other work all the way from Fl and then flew in after them having the car for 3 months and when i got there the car had body damage and had new leaks and wasn't tuned or dyno'd at all...essentially they charged me almost a grand for nothing....bunch of bs I am and still very unhappy with begi

Regarding Begi selling their company - is this a rumor or fact?

My luck with Begi has been the opposite, i'm running their kit, Everything i've ordered from them all has arrived within a week to my door step.

Wasn't really asking folks if they are happy with their parts ordered in the past, was asking if they are open for business right now. After a few attempts to contact them, and no reply I'm of the view they aren't, and my business will be elsewhere. Shame then, because it looks like they have some good products.

I guess I am lucky that I got my parts at all.

That's what I was thinking. Is it really that hard to push buttons on a phone?
In comparison, I've been talking to the guys from FM and the customer service is excellent via email. No problems. Just didn't want to right them off if this experience is due to some USA national week off, or major change to their business .... Heck I even expected to hear from someone from BEGI in response?! This company sucked. I am glad that they brought a 300+ hp "kit" to the market. I really am.
The reality is that most of the engineering on their kits (and for most miata 'kits') was done without real world testing. That wasn't necessarily their fault. Miata communities don't benefit from the huge amount of groundpaving high HP R&D that communities like evo/dsm/honda/vette/stang communities have. |
My original kit came from them. I'm still using their manifold, turbo and downpipe and it's holding up fine. But, yeah, their response time and turnaround time is pretty lame.
I think it's a situation of too big, too fast and they just got overloaded with orders and still can't get caught up. I'll bet a lot of their parts get ordered from somewhere else once you place your order with them, and that's why it takes so long to receive stuff. Someone with big bucks and the resources to run it well should step in and buy it. Then again, this is all just my opinion.:2cents: |
"USA national week off" that's hilarious. They are still in business I just spoke with them 3 days ago.
