block fitting, how tight?

Well thanks to all of your guys help, my supercharger is out and my turbo is sitting on the manifold. After a HUGE headache with the oil lines I have all braided line and AN fittings, and happy. I have the earls performance fitting for the sending line, 10x1.5 to -4AN. When I put it in it seemed a bit tight, but with a wrench and light pressure (only using 2 fingers) it goes in. Is it normal to be tight? Also, should all the threads go inside the block? I dont want to over tighten, so I'm afraid to find out. And lastly, if all the threads should go in, do I need a copper crush washer on it? Thanks for the help, if nothing breaks on me I will be turbo by monday morning!:bigtu: (edited to correct fitting size)

Just tighten it down until it's a little snug on the copper washer.

I broke mine.

That added another four hours to my install time for fabricating a new fitting.

It's brass, not steel.

I'm a gorilla dork and it's not the first time I've over torqued something.

STOP. You have the wrong sized fitting. The block is M10X1.5, not 1.25. Hopfully the adapter you have is aluminium, and you've only fucked up the threads on the adapter and not the block.

Lol sorry, I meant to say 10x1.5. 10x1.25 is the banjo bolt I had to get today. I HATE FITTINGS!!! so sorry for the misinformation! And the fitting is aluminum.

The fitting shouldn't be that difficult, and it should screw all the way in. Slowly work in and out a little bit at a time. You don't want to break it off, you'll be in for a world of hurt if you do.
