I get real consistent 6psi right now, but, as a disclaimer, I have not changed the setting yet. I am currently waiting on my water/meth injection so that I can up the boost for the safety portion of the air charge temperature. One of the main reasons that I got a boost controller, was to keep the wastegate closed as long as possible and spool quicker. The installation is very straight forward after you actually know what everything is. If you want to mount it inside the driver's cabin, you will need a longer vacuum line though, so plan on that. Very pleased so far. I didn't get the chance to take any pictures yet, but I will try tommorow.

kool, thanks for the info, will be looking forward for those pics. i m running intercooled, and that makes day and nite difference.

i m really wondering if its my boost controller or a vac leak some where. when i park my car for a while(3days) the engine would jump and shake for a bit, then level out. scratching the head all the time. i tighten all the clamps and checked all the hoses, looks fine.

Check the ICV and the ISC. The ICV on mine seems to stick every once in a while and I try my best to clean it, not very easy, but it helps.

zbossrt 11-17-2006 10:22 PM

what does ICV and ISC stand for?

boostinsteve 11-17-2006 10:36 PM

Idle Control Valve and Idle speed Control, respectively. The ICV is the energy drink sized thing on the intake manifold, and ISC is the thing on the bottom of the throttlebody. Try reading the codes on the computer and that will give you a better idea. The other guys will be more help on this issue, much more knowledgable about this. Just try using the search function and a lot of guys have probably had similar problems.

I try to learn stuff that I enjoy doing as quickly as possible. The internet is a wealth of knowledge that no one ever used on m.net. I love this site though, I think I will stay. WI will be in here soon, can't wait, more timing=more power. Yeah.

zbossrt 11-20-2006 08:28 PM

i will try to check that. thanks for the advice. i suspected it was those two. thanks for reinforcing my that. and all the info are really helpful. how is that boost controller going? where did u mount it? got any pics? thanks again!

I have the main unit on the firewall, behind the cowl area. I will try and post pics, I just have a lot of things that I am currently updating. I just got the WI in tonight and tommorrow I will start redoing the ignition maps to get more power out of the car.
