Default Bigger Turbo?

i'm currently running the greddy turbo kit for the 1.6 as well.
i wanted to upgrade to a slightly bigger turob, what suggestions do you guys have for a bit bigger, and ball bearing if possible.
has to be the same flanges and everything because
i already bought a DP made by turbo tony already and dont want to reinvest in another.

thanks
simon

well i have bad news for ya the greddy turbo has weird flanges that you probably wont find on other turbos so you're screwed unless some one else knows of another turbo. the greddy can get you to 270 or so whp how much more do you want.

i don't know if you're gonna find what you're looking for. but you could try to put a new compressor housing and wheel on you greddy turbo.

How much power are you making with your Greddy setup now?

not entirely sure but i think a bigger wheel would generally be slower to spool with the tradeoff being more top end flow. I'm no turbo spec map guru but i do know it's been done before at least once
https://www.miataturbo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4949

also fm even does this as an upgrade for the mazdaspeed turbo.

I think most at 10 psi aren't breaking the 200 whp barrier. Maybe he should turn the wick up a bit first. adding just 20 whp more to the Miata really makes it feel like it went up a league.

And the fact the TD04H-15G can flow around 275rwhp worth of air means you really ought not to bother putting a larger turbo on it until you're approaching that point.

that was my end point as well. unless he is running the effeciency out of it and pushing 15+psi he has alot more room on the turbo to grow.

well i would agree that the greddy can put you into the range of tranny danger but maybe it could be done more efficiently with a better compressor wheel, maybe not even lose any spool? i think i'd like to get markp's input as i'm not really even sure what's involved with mixing and matching turbo components

well, i am running at 10PSI, my goal is to make 250WHP
i currently have like almost all bolt ons, looking to do cams sometime soon
looking at maybe some HKS 264 exhaust 256 intake, camshafts blah blah blah
thicker head gasket, resurface head, new valve springs, maybe even new valves, and a valve job.

i did notice that the td04h-15g has a really weird flange, took me forever to even located someone that sells it.

from my knowledge, running the turbo effeciently only goes up to 10 or 12lbs?

tom made 243rwhp on the greddy with stock cams at 15psi, i'm sure 16psi would have put him at least 250rwhp

very true. When i went from 8 psi with the vortech FMU to a 10psi with proper fuel and timming with a Link it was a night and day different. I would pull on my friends 10psi greddy 93
