so yeah we were putting it back on and it busted... now it is just the timing belt cover thingy we figure shove a bigger bolt in there and throw a big ol washer on and call it a day or do we some how try and get it out then rethread it with m6x1.00 cus yeah that would suck.. btw it is the one in the red circle in the picture.

so what do yall think i should end up doing...

I think that just holds on the plastic cover......if so, just re-tap it with a bigger thread size.

it seems to just hold on the plastic cover... half of the bolt is about half n inch in the hole so no way to get it out without an extractor that well i have no idea how to extract bolts. Our idea was get another m6x1.00 bolt and just screw the busted end all the way to the wall kinda like on this bad photo...

being that deep in there it would be hard to get it out i would leave it of if it didn't do anything important. i cant realy say though as i haven't done a tb on my miata or anyother though. just look and see what the part does and then see what it will do if it isn't there and if it only has one bolt if you are comfortable with what you get go with whatever feels best drilling out and tapping the motor like that seems like alot of trouble and you dont know if there are internal passages in there you could hit by going to deep. a normal extractor will deffinitly not work here though. hope this helps

yeah thats why we figured just use a smaller length of the same size bolt to hold on the cover.

If you can't get it out and its not a load bearing cover I dont see why a short bolt put in with a few threads wouldn't work. Just use some Loctite on it to make sure it doesn't wander out. I also wouldn't put it in too tightly.
