Usually widebands have a 0-1v simulate mode, so you can use the wideband as your only o2 sensor. Since they are 4 wire heated, it's more fuel effecient also. In no way does the stock ecu utilize the wideband though, it just thinks it's using a narrowband. Personally, I went with both the stock narrow band and wideband setup, but the narrow bands are cheap and can handle more heat and abuse than the wideband. So I placed a second bung down the midpipe, for my wideband. No probs to date with this setup. Others have used the LC-1 and other wideband kits in the stock greddy dp position with no heat issues either.
