Looking at your dyno and specs can we speculate ?

What would be reasonable for a full 3", no CAT, magnaflow and VVT car give me with that? Maybe another 10-15hp and a bump the curve 100-300 rpm lower when it all starts to get fun ?

I didn't have to do anything to the turbo itself. I didn't port the wastegate, and it mated flat onto my flyin miata manifold. It is a journal bearing turbo and it appears to have a restrictor in it, but I am just running a -4an line directly into it. I would think with a 3" you would get faster response and probably more horsepower. Now keep in mind, I changed the wastegate actuator on mine. It comes with a 14.5psi wastegate, and since I am running a 2 BAR map sensor I didn't want to be right on my limit. I put an HKS 10psi actuator on and then used a GM boost control solenoid to adjust the boost. Having my ECU control boost and the high quality actuator may mean mine is holding boost better then the stock actuator. Anyways, the point is just be aware that if you get this thing and don't replace the actuator, you're going to be running 14.5 psi.

my vote goes towards a used, good condition GT2560R

what about e-motor usa chinaturbos?

messiahx 04-15-2011 12:26 AM

Does the Godspeed 3076 really have a t25 flange or is that just the result of engrish? Because if it is....

I'm running the E-motor 2870 and it put down less than stellar numbers when compared to the godspeed verion.

However, I think I had a few problems at the dyno that I have now worked out. As soon as I am sure my spark table is 100% det free, I'm going to go pay for three pulls at the local dyno. I'll report back.

As of now, go with the godspeed stuff.

I've had both the:
China 3071 and
China 2870

So far, the 2870 is my favourite. Spool is SIGNIFICANTLY quicker and still seems to give me a kick in the back when it comes in.

I bought Lars' $75 emotor 2870, figured what the hell. I cant even find them on ebay anymore, just the godspeed jobbies which look pretty nice. If I were buying new I'd get the godspeed too.

Any near term plans to get dyno numbers with it

TurboTim 04-15-2011 10:45 AM

No not really. My next manifold will initially be used with my old garrett 2560. Then if I'm bored I'll swap to the chinese turbo. Lars says the hot side flanges are interchangeable so perhaps I could change them at a dyno day.

You bastard, I was going to pick that one up. Send it to me for testing and I'll make sure it works properly ;)

I'm almost sure my GT2870 is from that company. I love that son of a bitch... kick in the ass all the way to redline started at 3.3K (with an exhaust leak and shitty tune).

This turbo was dynoed by Levnubhin and made 250whp on a Mustang dyno at 15psi on a 1.6.

In short, get this son of a bitch now.

chicksdigmiatas 04-15-2011 02:44 PM

Noooo China turbos are crappy, and no one should use them.

Landrew 04-15-2011 02:49 PM

That's not what David Bowie said ......

Total garbage and a waste of time. No one's ever made power with a china :p

Bob Loblaw 04-17-2011 06:07 PM

Cx Racing is said to have some really good turbos out now.

I may have a bum GT2560, so if that is correct, I'll just run one of these while I decide to sell or fix my Garret. Isn't a new Garret CHRA nearly $500 !!

My replacement 2560 CHRA was just under $500....like $470 or so with tax from a local vender. Not bad when you think that when you're done putting it back together, you'll have a brand new turbo. I didn't think twice to spend the money on the Garrett CHRA over a Chinkonese knockoff. That would be like me selling my SSRs for some Sportmaxx wheels.

Landrew 04-19-2011 03:01 PM

I'm from Canada and so I could only afford Konig wheels......Perhaps I fit the Chinese parts demographic........

Add shipping and soon I'm at $600 for my 2560 rebuild. Being in Canada we pay more for everything except snow... i've also got to wait a few weeks. We only get 6.4 days of summer here.

Whats a worn 2560 worth used BTW, $200, or maybe $300 ??

I'm counting chickens before they hatch but it's waivering towards a bad turbo/hot side boost leak......

hmmm options.

I don't know why part of me wants to try the godpseed 28 but it does.

dustinb 04-19-2011 11:07 PM

If I could go back to my very first turbo I would have bought the godspeed from the start. I love this thing.

Landrew 04-21-2011 06:19 PM

I'm getting close to ordering one. The $120 Canadian shipping is a rip though!
