Default Replacement air temp sensor

Okay guys I was just wondering if anyone has heard of using a different air temp sensor than the one FM sells for the Link ecu. Something a little more durable.

I'm not sure if the Link ECU requires some bespoke temp sensor, but people that use the Megasquirt (as well as other ECUs) tend to use GM's caged IAT sensor which is pretty cheap ($20 from www.gmpartsdirect.com or ~$14-20 in an parts store). Here's some useful part #'s I've gathered: http://www.2g-eng.com/wiki/GMSensorInformation

bripab007,

Thank you so much I will definitely look into this immediately. That is a hell of a lot cheaper than the FM part, especially considering their sensor only has around $15 in parts on it. The biggest pain is sourcing the parts they used. Thank you again.

Again, I don't know for certain it can be used with the Link, but at $20, it can't hurt to try.

There is one of the GM iats that are supposed to be better than the rest. PNs to cross reference.

This one says "fast response". I'm not sure if it's the one your talking about.

Home » Shop » Sensors » Temp Sensors » Fast-Response GM Delphi / Packard Intake Air Temperature Sensor ( IAT / MAT / ACT ) or Manifold Air Temperature Sensor # 25036751 - 25037225 - 25037034 *RECOMMENDED*

Why not order the one DIYPNP recommends: GM Open Element IAT Sensor with Connector DIYAutoTune.com
