drill and tap sizes/ begi-s questions

I am in the process of installing my s-kit, and I ran into a few quick questions.

1. In the manual it says to use a 37/64 drill bit and a 3/8 npt tap. both of which are not easily found at a hardware store. Is there a size that is equivelent to these that will work for my application? I am running the stainless oil drain line.

2. I didnt realize it until now, but I have a part that was backordered at begi. its the oil supply line fitting at the engine block. i looked and looked and looked but could not find one locally. does anyone have an alternative to this fitting?( 7/16 by 20 jic to 10mm by 1.5 thread pitch). I am also running stainless lines for oil feed.

So far i have the exhaust manifold/downpipe off, i have the air box all the way to the throttle body off. i also started to wire up my lc1. My turbo is all prepped. Any tips or suggestions as to what order I should be doing the rest in? I wanted to get the oil pan tapping out of the way next. I was wondering if anyone had a good picture of where to tap the pan. i have seen a few pictures but i just want a couple to get it just right. I have a/c and p/s. Thanks for all the help.

I cant remember what size drill and tap i used, but it came with my s kit i got a while ago. Its still sitting in my garage, as for the oil feed fitting, i think i may have an extra as well. I know for sure i have one that goes to a -6AN fitting your welcome to have if you give me 5 bucks to ship it to you.

You can use a 9/16" drill bit but you do need the 3/8" NPT tap. I got mine at a local industrial supply store but I've seen them at True Value. Both had the tap but not the drill bit. I ordered a 37/64" bit w/ a 1/2 shank through Amazon for about $5. I see they have the tap for $5, too.

if you want to borrow my drill and tap just pay for the shipping.

Someone on the board has my tap/drill....

I sent my tap and drill bit to someone on the list with the caveat that they would send it on to the next guy who needed it.

I can't remember who it was, but there are a couple of guys on the board who have had drill/tap sets given to them so they could pass it on down the line.

Hopefully one of those guys will see this thread and send you a drill bit and tap.
