Tack weld those 5-bolts in place, then attach it to the DP with a v-band clamp. Now if there was only a similar solution for the turbine inlet flange.

Yeah I know about those, but they do not have integrated waste gates. There is not currently an available EWG solution for a S4 manifold that will not have boost creep. BEGI is building something but it is still in the prototype stage.

Nope, no creep. I have not tried to run it below 13-14 psi, and not above 20 psi, but it holds fine. If I run it off of the EBC/wastegate it holds 14-15 psi. If I enable the WI and run it off of the MBC it holds 19-20. The waste gate is BEGI-style ported and I am using a BEGI separated gases down pipe.

I had some creep before due to the MBC/EBC hybrid setup, but once I properly adjusted the MBC the creep went away.

Guess who I'm calling tomorrow. I noticed that when I took my turbo nuts off, they no longer "pinched" and I could spin them off by hand. The factory exhaust hardware still grips.

I'm going to put those nuts on or the stage 8 with my space-shuttle / nuclear thread locker and pray to black jesus to send me an 8-Ball 40...and to keep my nuts snug.

does anyone know if stage-8 lockers will fit 10mm nuts in a .86 t28 housing? I need to order immediately.

has anyone considering a hard mount on the exhaust to the trans? I know it fails on the greddy kit, but I've discovered a lot of front/rear movement when the turbo parts are out. This is definitely a MAJOR binding stress on the turbo parts which aren't welded together and cast iron or studs don't like to flex.

FWIW I added an additional exhaust hanger that attached to one of the two PPF bolts at the rear of the transmission.

What about Nord-Lock washers? FM has some, and you can get any size you want from mcmaster. I just put some on based on another thread, so I don't know how they work yet.

I don't track, but the theory looks like they'd hold up...

Wow, Xceler8x completely missed what I've been saying.

You don't drill a bolt and use a cotter pin. You drill a stud and use safety wire through the stud and castle nut.

You know I just realized the Stage-8 bolts come with a socket head cap screw which is what I want... WIN
I think I will be getting some of these for the turbine inlet and outlet flanges. I am going to use bolts and skip the studs and nuts.

We're working on something that should be a good option. The proof-of-concept version is in place and seems to be good. I'm working on finalizing the design for production, and we'll get a few of these things put together. I'm going to ask the MT.net community to help us test them, so watch this space. Should be a few weeks, depending on how fast one of our suppliers can turn around the initial batch.

I just talked to you on the phone and ordered the stage-8 stuffs. Should I wait on putting my stuff together this weekend? I only want to do this one more time because it makes me cry. By a few weeks do you mean 3-weeks, 12-weeks, or are you just as unsure as I am?

Thanks again for taking those measurements...I think the stage8 stuff will work.

Have you tested the concept on the track extensively?

"Proof of concept" means "yes, we can do what we were hoping we could do". The concept is valid. Is it effective? I don't know yet. That's why we'll need the help of MT.net, to get a number of people with different configurations to test it for us. We don't actually have access to a really punishing track here anyhow.

I am being deliberately vague about the details, as I'm hoping to avoid a very detailed interrogation about our potential solution. Once we're a bit further along and we're ready to look for some test pilots, I'll obviously offer quite a bit more more. Basically, we're working on something, and I think it holds promise.

Timeframe? I never put timeframes on development. But it's a relatively simple design, so we should be able to get the test parts put together fairly soon.
