They are not Inconel, but are not local auto parts. I ordered them online... Ebay I believe.. The nuts are the issue for me. Studs are staying in place.. I'll be replacing them with Stage8 fasteners today hopefully if they come in...
And if those back out, I may just snap punch the threads lol

And that my studs don't have rolled threads... Which I don't see to be that big of a deal...
#1183
Because its costing me $10 for the Stage8 Fasteners which are the same thing that the TSE kit includes. My studs are not inconel, but after threading them in I gave a single snap punch to the threads of the studs so that they can't vibrate out, but could be turned out with a wrench if ever needed. The only difference is that I don't have any resbond...

1100 posts with the answer but he's going to use eBay studs...
nperkins - if this works for you, it will be in a street driving scenario. If you track your car and are fast (well below spec Miata record for that track), they will break. For your own safety, don't chime back in this thread in a month and say your hardware is working. We won't be polite like we have been this time.

LOL more at assuming a snap punch will solve the problem
LOL even more at assuming vibration was the problem - vibration was never the problem

Also... You charge $155 + shipping for your kit... Yes?
What is the difference between your kit at that price vs this?
Full Race Inconel studs here for $49.99
Full-Race T3 & T4 Turbo M10 Stud Hardware Kit - Full-Race.com
4 Stage8 Fasteners here for $27.99 (Or buy 10 for $35.99)
Stage 8 Locking Fasteners 3951 - Stage 8 Locking Fasteners Superchargers & Turbochargers - Overview - SummitRacing.com
And buying 4oz of Resbond 907ts for $28.50...
http://www.cotronics.com/catalog/41%20%20907ts.pdf
Seems like for $164 + shipping (Call it $175), or $20 more than you sell one kit for, I can have TWO sets of the same thing... Or am I missing something?
And I actually got the 10 pack of Stage8 fasteners for CHEAP from a friend's shop who recently purchased a large stock of them from another shop...

The nuts are not inconel as far as I know, only the studs...
And typically I'm one all for supporting vendors, just like I would rather support a local business vs chain store/internet... But when the cost difference is as substantial as this (Pay 12% more to have two complete kits then sell one for 50% of what TSE sells for, and end up saving over 40%), that's just a lot to swallow in order to support a vendor...

I understand the stretch part. I'm running 304 stainless studs... Will they stretch? Possibly. Do I track the car? No.

They are two very different "grades" of metal. You can "set it and forget it" or fight the same battle we've already fought, and lost. We get this all the time though, newbs come in, tell everyone who's been doing this for years that we are all wrong, then either disappear or realize we were right all along. I mean seriously dude, there are countless people here who's been doing this for year, spent thousands of dollars and lots of time getting this right, and you're going to tell us all how much we don't know?
I think its a valid question that from my reading in this thread (Which I have read most of it, but a lot of the banter makes it difficult to follow) didn't see my answer.
The full race setup is A286 studs with Inconel studs vs the TSE kit which uses Inconel studs & Stage8 fasteners which are 4130...

From Full Race:
the fine pitch 1.25 inconel nut will be easy to remove without dislodging/unthreading the stud from the flange
Although A286 is apparently some heat treated inconel alloy, although I have no idea why you need inconel nuts.

I'm curious what the difference is between the TSE studs & the Full Race studs.. That's it..

4 Stage8 Fasteners: $31 shipped
Resbond $33 shipped
That's $119... TSE is $155 + shipping... Did I forget to carry the one somewhere?
Or... If I wanted to do some legwork...
8 Studs from FR: $105 shipped
10 Stage8 Fasteners: $39 shipped
Resbond Trial Kit $35 shipped
So $179 shipped... If TSE is $160 shipped, then I've spent $19 MORE to make 2 kits..
If I sell 1 bottle of Resbond, the 4 extra studs, & 4 extra fasteners for $100, then I have spent $80 to make my own. If I sold the 2 additional extra Resbond bottles for $10 each, then I've spent $60...

They are 304 stainless with brass nuts.. The same setup that I had used on multiple turbo vehicles in the past. I had ordered them before I knew even of this thread... Will they last? Who knows. Doubtful, but we'll see. The nuts stretched after just a few heat cycles. I replaced the nuts with the Stage8 fasteners, and have been through about a dozen heat cycles so far, all with hard driving, and so far have no issues.
I'm just trying to get my original questions answered... That's all... If I'm wrong, then fine.. I'm wrong... its a learning experience... But man... this thread is almost as bad as VWVortex...
