Thanks man. I hope so too. Its been a drag not moving the car more than 5 feet for the entire summer.
Nice dude! 36sqft is your best bet. Its the best priced for the amount you get. Use it and keep the rest for another time, or sell it off to a friend. It all really depends on how much your gonna soundproof. Our already light cars, now with added turbos can afford to gain 20lbs in soundproofing. The doors close solid and the stereo sounds a world different than it would without it.
OR - Just get 24sqft. I'd say that would be plenty to do both doors, the rear deck, and the trunk. As well as have some left over.
http://tinyurl.com/5urtd9
Hmmm. Burnt coils would cause this sort of reaction? Doesn't seem to me like it has anything to do with the ignition or timing. I would say its electrical, but seems fuel related.
SOOOOO......it was finally time. I've done a shitload of reading on the MS and I decided it was time to stop dickin around and order it.
So MSPNP, the IAT sensor kit, and the serial to USB adapter are on the way. Now I need to figure out my intake setup and have the bung welded in. And I'm gonna get new O-rings and retainers for the injectors to install this weekend as well. And I'm gonna try a new fuel pump relay that's under the dash, seeing thats where the clicking is coming from. Hopefully the problem can be fixed by one of these things.
Anyone have the tuner toy rail that can recommend how to run the lines? Like as in the fittings, size of hose used, how you routed them, etc. That's been taking a toll on my brain as well.

Ohh yea, and the car will do this cold or warmed up. Pretty much does it all the ******* time.
I've read that it could be bad grounds, the AFM, the fuel pump, the fuel relay, and some other things I forget off hand.
Sucks.

So after ******* with our 3500 GMC's brakes and hubs today.....I finally got to get away from the shop to come home to a package! Now that MS is here I have the desire to work on the car again. I slowly feel like I'm almost there!
I have to say....the MSPNP almost looks to good to put under the carpet! The part I have been dreading is undoing the hacked up ECU-emanage wires, but I knocked it out tonight. Now its back to how they would be stock.
Tomorrow I hope to get alot more done, but I'm not trying to rush anything.
Now I hope to find a place to pass me for emissions. Seeing MS is going in, as well as my 460cc injectors and the tuner toys rail.
More pictures tmr...
On a side note; I was thinking today....I ******* hope this car drives alot different than before. I already did the stock 100hp > Greddy 180hp, so I hope to have a similar increase with the new setup.

Throughout the day I've managed to get some more work done. For some reason I always get more motivated as it gets darker out.
MSPNP is all hooked up except for the LC1 input. Its only one wire, but I cant remember which so I needed to come in and get the LC1 papers. I also need to figure out which ground the LC1 is. I think LC1 and the LC1 gauge are wired together, with the Defi boost gauge. If so I'm hoping thats ok to ground them all together at the ECU ground point.
I just took the seat out before I came in. I need to fix all the wires coming from the LC1, they were all just lying under the center console. Needs more zip-tie!
I'm also gonna fix all the carpet. My ex got me one of the Moss motors plush carpet sets, but it was put in half assed. So....I gots me some ****** spray adhesive and I'm gonna do a major cleaning and redo all of it. I'm on the fence about a pair of Bride racing seats that are on m.net right now, but I think the leather would be too much in the summer. I was this close to buying them lastnight....but wanted to sleep on it. In any case its a hell of a deal for them.

I just decided tonight I'm gonna take a week off from work. This past week I worked 64 hours, and we only have more and more work coming....so its not gonna slow down any. I really need to get this miata back on the road before winter is here. I will throw myself out the mother ****** window if I don't get to drive it this year. This year = before the first snowfall....
The plan is.....to get a massive shitload of stuff done tomorrow. Hopefully everything electrical and interior related will be done.
Thanks for all the support guys! By the way....the mosquitoes don't run me off, but they make me run my mouth! Tonight I was getting so pissed I let out a bunch of tourette like yells! I really don't give a ****, but I do try to be mindful of the neighbors.....sometimes.

Make sure you pay very close attention to how the LC-1 is hooked up. Im sure you have read numerous threads about LC-1 problems and most of them are due to bad grounds or the way it was hooked up. Dont forget to do the req fuel for the injectors and set the timing. Two important things for the MS. Good luck and im glad to finally get a day to day update again. Looking forward to reading this thread tomorrow when i get off work!

Fuckkk that airbag ****. Seriously.....what a pain in the ******* ***. I could barely get my arms up under the dash, let alone move my hands around once up there. I let my temper show and just ******* pulled the airbag box out and broke it. It doesn't matter, but I found out after word that it would have come out fine with the bracket had I kept my cool. So now all the airbag **** is out of the car. +1
I noticed that where the airbag garbage was, that there was now enough room to sneak the driver side crossover box up there. It wasn't easy, but nothing under the ******* miata dash is. Its in and secure with zip-ties....but it aint gonna fall and it ain't gonna rattle. I then proceeded to finish up all the wiring on the driver side, such as zip-tying it all up under the dash quite nicely and away from my feet.
I started on all the carpet tucking and the wires under the center console, but I decided I had enough wires for the day. The Kenwood screen is ready to mount, but I am waiting on my "true" double din console from Bill @ miataroadster. I bent that bracket that does god knows what originally and used it as holder for the kenwood. And seeing its bent, it also holds tension on it to help keep it from moving. I really wish I could have banged that out tonight and be done with it. ******* Japan is too far away......****!
Tonight I'm giving both the seats a nice rehab on the fabric, and I'm fixing my broken door panels and cleaning them. I don't know for sure yet.....but I might sneak out around 6am and start on the soft top. I just cant justify paying someone else to work on my car. It just seems like it could be a big project. But....only tmr will I know.
1st day off of work felt weird. I am more sore today from doing jack **** than I would be from lifting forms or swinging a hammer. I don't get it....

Today I decided that I really didn't like the IC setup I made myself....so I called up FM and ordered their all silicone IC pipes. Basically their new IC setup, only I will be using my CXracing 25x12x3 IC instead of theirs. I like the fact that the TB inlet tube has the bov tube, idle air tube, and the 3/8 bung for the IAT sensor for MS. I also got a fuel pump relay from them to see if that solves my stalling problem. Shipped out today, I should have everything next Friday.
After about an hour of searching m.net today and reading various threads on the matter, I learned what I needed to do for a proper removal of the charcoal canister. I had removed the canister, but never knew what to do with the purge solenoid and the vac lines. I learned that you disconnect the purge solenoid and disregard all vacuum lines associated with the canister. I already had the hose for the vent run down to the frame, so that was fine. Now I don't need to worry about the vac lines anymore.
I don't know if I ever showed it in pictures before, but my convertible top is pretty fucked....ok major fucked. I keep adding duct tape to it to keep water out. I had a Robbins cloth top w/ glass window, but that didn't work with the rollbar. So now I have a Robbins vinyl top w/ plastic window. I was gonna try putting it in today, but I decided it might be best to wait until I have the car at the shop indoors. We have like 4 days of rain on the way, and the last thing I need is to **** up the top.
I finished up the dynamat today and I still have 2 full sheets left. The rear parcel deck is now fully covered in all the spots that matter. I did the foam trick I was thinking about and it seemed to work pretty good. I cut some foam to fill the large gap, and then went around it all with the spray foam. Tomorrow I will sand it and add some more if its needed, but I doubt it is. I'm curious to see how much of a difference this will make. Not to mention before the subs weren't even bolted down. Should have the subs and rear deck 100% finished tomorrow.

damn......kept checking this thread and nothing for ever...then BAM!! every other post is updates nice progress Vash.
the soft top should be pretty easy actually, I was surprised how fast I got mine done. the hardest part was drilling out the rain rail, but if your new top comes with one it should be a walk in the park altogether.
just out of curiosity: what didnt you like about the e-manage that you switched to ms? anything in particular? I know ms is awesome, but if your emanage worked good why change it unless you were unsatisfied?

That's good to hear about the top, I got the new one with the rain rail attached. I would just hate to get it apart then run into problems while its not running and still outside.
This was a hard choice for me to make. The Emanage worked fine, but I only fucked with it once and that was 4 years ago. I like the fact that MS is capable of more and that it has a great following behind it. Alot of the tech savy guys on here build them, but for me this was the best way to go. I mainly wanted the MS to delete the AFM. That ******* thing is junk.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm nervous as **** to try and tune it. I don't have alot of experience with involved programs and setting parameters, and values, and etc etc. I really don't have a clue of how to even begin. But I figured if other guys can figure it out.....why the **** can't I right? The only thing I'm a little disappointed about is all this talk about a TPS sensor and the idle with MS. I would expect that out of the box this thing should idle the car fine, but I guess thats not the case. I'll have to see for myself whats up once I turn the key on that dreaded first turn.....again.

Today the true double DIN surround came from Japan, at first I was like WTF did I buy this for....? Well turns out it is a bit different from the one that was in the car. You can see in the pictures below the difference in trying to fit the frame. This was in part why I was having such a hard time trying to figure out how to mount the bitch. The one from Japan fits nicely around the screen and made the whole install alot less of a headache.
So needless to say I baked the car to help focus, put on my ipod and about 2 hours later had it all wired up....again, and permanently installed. I tried my best to get it to look "OEM". Overall I am stoked with how it all came out, everything from the user interface on the Kenwood deck to the sound of the subs behind me. Before all of this I had a **** garbage deck with horrid speakers and a FM transmitter for my ipod, this is about 100 times better.
Now I know it was brought up earlier about the 8"s in the rear deck not sounding good, well sorry....whoever says that didn't do it correctly. Now that the inside of the rear deck is covered in Dynamat and the trunk is blocked off with the foam, its 10x louder than before. I couldn't even believe the difference. I was happy with the bass before, now its just perfect. Everyone has an opinion, but trust me when I say this **** is perfect. Anyone that does this will not regret it.
Now I plan on spending the rainy weekend reading about MSPNP a couple times over. I want to make sure I have everything covered before I **** anything up. I ordered some more stuff last night, hopefully I should have a couple packages here next week. Lots more to come in time!

The green foam is regular 2" craft foam, any craft store should have some, maybe even home depot. The spray foam is called "Great stuff" and can also be found at home depot or any hardware store. I cut the green foam in 2 9"x6" rectangles and made notches for my wires. Place them in the gap between the trunk and the rear deck from the trunk side. Give them a couple light punches to make them fit snug. Then go around all gaps with the spray foam on both sides, trunk side and interior side. And that's it....done. This seriously took about 15 minutes.
I would Dynamat the whole rear deck like I did if you have the material and time. Between the foam and the Dynamat it has made a huge difference. I'll put it this way, the way the subs sounded before with a bass boost and some tweaking with the eq is how they sound now with no bass boost and no eq tuning. Also the music before was at a good volume at 17, now 14-15 is plenty with the top up/windows up (deck goes to 50) I also feel that road noise will cut in half with all the sound proofing.
Let me know how it goes man!

Small update....
I gots my silicone IC pipes from FM today as well as some other stuff from offline. New plugs, new air filter, protection cover for Kenwood touchscreen, and the wrong fuel pump relay. When I ordered the IC pipes from FM I asked about the relay, and they said they'd send one but its completely wrong. Now I need to source one ASAP to hopefully get the car running this weekend. (If anyone has one please send me a PM)
I know that now I need to clock the turbo and do some frame smashing/cutting. Its fine, but I don't want to think about doing it until the weekend. Then swap my radiator hoses, hook up the IAT sensor for the MS, injectors and rail, etc etc. I'd say I'm pretty close to finally having it ready to run. Then I need to figure out how to tune it and get it down to the bodyshop. My appointment is for first thing next week!
It sucks putting all my brain into disassembling one of our 454's at work (timing chain broke) and coming home not wanting to even go near the miata.
