gospeed81 12-18-2009 04:13 PM

Not just a boost leak...but unfiltered intake as well

Atleast it didn't effect idle.

gotcha. yeah to be fair it's probably the only original piece of rubber under my hood with 49k miles and 16 years. it's actually split worse than the pic shows. i had to order it, coming in tuesday

magnamx-5 12-19-2009 09:05 AM

yep if you dont have another hose handy you can just plug this for a while your cold idle will be shitty but atleast you will still run normal boost.

stiwhirmus 12-20-2009 11:54 AM

The VVT only operates on the intake cam. You can use any ECU you want and simply pin the cam halfway on it's range. The engine will run just like any non-VVT 1.8.

Good first post. Next time try to post on the correct thread.

triple88a 12-20-2009 02:12 PM

No kidding but i hated that hose on my NA. It was a pain in the behind since all the ebay intakes dont have a plug for it and i really wasnt gonna pay 300 for an intake off another manufacturer.

timk 12-20-2009 05:09 PM

I had a boost leak in the short vac line between the top and bottom halves of the NB intake manifold. Had to use compressed air and soapy water to find that bitch.
