SO MANY CHOICES WHAT WOULD BE MY BEST BET?

1990 Greddy Base kit with ETD crossover/turbosmart VTA BOV (6psi for now......not planning on going above 10 - 12)

the 94-97 should work i would get the 190 high pressure for 5$ more though. the 255 is to much for your stock regulator and inlines are abit more of a pain than dropping a new one in the tank very simple. the price isn't to bad either.

stock regulator? Don't you have a vortech FPR that comes with the kit?

humm well i would say invest in a BEGi AFPR and a walbro 255lph pump if your goal is 12psi.

Unless you have BEGi's multi-role 2035 AFPR, then you still have your stock FPR to control fuel pressure in vacuum (-14.7 to 0 PSI); the Vortech only adds pressure in boost.

The 255lph pump often overpowers the stock FPR which causes the car to run rich in vacuum.

255 walbro is the way togo. I also work for cartech & can get you guys those AFPR if needed.

I remember hearing somewhere that you had to midify the pump bracket and all on the 90 - 93 to get the 255 to work....is this true?

Let's do a little math:

190lph flows 190,000cc an hour = 3,166cc per minute

3,166cc per minute divided across 4 injectors is 791cc

Subtract a bit since the 190lph is probably its rating when "dead-headed," meaning it's flow has turned to a trickle at that rate.

So, the pump should be able to supply four, ~700cc injectors with enough flow to maintain 40-50psi in the fuel rail. That's enough for over 400hp at the crank.

So, tell me why anyone here needs a 255lph pump.

After that post i think my decision is made....a walbro 190......now the only question HP or not?

Yeah, don't even mess with the 190lph unless you get the high pressure model. The 190lph HP sucker is good up to 130psi according to their tech data. It even flows better than the 255lph HP pump after 100psi. The 190lph HP puts out 28gal/hr at 110psi while the 255lph puts out 20 gal/hr. At 120psi the 190lph HP puts out 22 gal/hr versus 11 gal/hr for the 255HP. At 130psi (Yehaaaah!!!!) the 190HP still puts out 18gal/hr while the 255HP has dead headed!

Yeah....the 90-93 has a funnel opening that the pump outlet sits in. Its really useless actually. The 94 has no funnel. Just cut the funnel off and use the piece of hose that the walbro comes with and 2 hose clamps to connect the pump outlet with your newly cut fuel pickup pipe.

i havent installed any of my parts yet but i have a 255hp pump waiting to go in, it should be fine with my jackson racing afpr right?

Walbro's can be had cheap at anywhere else besides Miata-specific dealers from what I've seen. I've seen Subaru/Evo dealers selling the 255lph for $75 shipped with the adapter. I'm sure they can get teh 190's if you ask nicely.

the Jr pump was the 190 hp i believe but i think moss changed to the 255 inline like the pieburg setup a little later. the 190 lph is plenty as brian clearly pointed out and the hp from wich he takes his data from is the only way to go. btw at a bsfc of .6 then you will need a minumum of 20.63 lph(or 5.4 gph or 32.47lbs/h) of fuel flow. you have ot take that into pump configuration ot figure for your own desired hp and pressure gaols the just use this formula
HP=bsfc×lbs/h

I have the opportunity to buy a used(for two months) Jackson Racing AFPR......would this supplement my fuel pump enough to run the stock 6 pounds a little safer for a while or would this just be a waste of money for me ($60 shipped)
