Get An Exhaust!

I put in a test pipe with a resonator that ends before the rear wheels. I plan to use this for any track time or autocrossing, so obviously it is WAY too loud for the street. I was just curious on how it sounded.

The horsepower gain was incredible! I took out my emanage so I could see realistically how much gain there was, so this is on a stock greddy kit. I drove off at 2,000RPM in first gear and floored it, once the boost kicked it the tires started slipping. I'm 100% sold on the cost of a large downpipe. It has to be the best bang for the buck besides the turbo itself. If you have a greddy kit and want more power, get an exhaust.

I know people have said this before, but I wanted to feel it for myself. I can't wait to make my downpipe and put on an exhaust I can use for the street.

EDIT: I had a stock exhaust on before I swapped it out.

I have no experience with the Greddy Kit but.... a buddy of mine that is on the board had that joke of a downpipe that the greddy comes with....and swapped it out...it helped so much.. with a stock rx7 I'd pull hard till he hit boost(takes for ever with factory Greddy DP) the spool characteristics are amazing with a better flowing downpipe. I'm glad you're happy with your purchases!

Keep boosting brother!

i've always had the tony dp, but when i upgraded from 2.25" resonator and muffler to 2.5" and only a resonator. it just boosts and pulls harder than ever! A free flowing exhaust is one of the best things to do first after installing a turbo.

Looks like i'll by upgrading my OBX N.A. exhaust for a 2.5 one then =D

I concern. The difference between the stock kit on stock exhaust and having a turbotony DP with 2.5" cherrybomb muffler and pipe (6" of it) is like doing the turbo kit all over again. It's nice having boost at 3k instead of 4.5k.

I actually went from 4-5 cars to only 2 cars behind a WRX (Stage 2 tune, 3" DP and exhaust) and EVO8 (w/intake). This was from a 20-80 roll, and 40-110 roll. Should have been closer, but losing boost during shifts (no BOV) sucks.

I put the emanage back in and went for a ride. I am in LOVE! If the drone wasn't so bad I would keep it. I sware it has 300 horses...but then again I have been driving an 75hp 88 accord for the last 6 months...

93 Miata + Greddy + Emanage (and Autotune) + shorty exhaust = HELL yes!

Now if only I didn't have a 6 inch, the clutch didn't slip above 5k and I knew it had a reliable tune...I would be in heaven.

EDIT(Damn why so many?): I know it only has 140-150, I was being sarcastic. I just noticed I didn't make it sound that way...but now my avatar reflects my cars new personality!

Here's my experience: I bought an FM 2.5" turbo dual and had a 2.5" midpipe made, so it's 2.5" all the way through now, vs. my old setup of 2.25" BSP midpipe/duals. It made quite a noticeable SOTP difference. THEN, during some autocross racing, the pipe became disconnected at the exhaust manifold-pipe flange (muffler shop didn't tighten enough)...so it was extra LOUD, but had wayyyy more power. We had some R compounds on at the time and it pulled like there was no tomorrow. But, all good things come to an end...
