Default Legality of the Greddy kit (in Cali)

I know the turbo kit itself is CARB legal, but I heard that front mount intercoolers are NOT. Any truths to that?

If so, how do you cali folks get the smog guy to pass the visual? Krispy Kreme donuts?

So technically, the GReddy kit is only CARB legal if it is installed and set the way GReddy intended it to i.e. you need to run 6 deg timing, stock intake piping, GReddy foam filter, etc. However, most shops tend to not fine tooth comb the setup.

Any modification to the basic Greddy kit renders the CARB cert null and void. That being said, two smog certs later, the average smog tech has no idea what is legal or not legal on the Greddy kit unless you tell him. My smog tests went something like this:

Tech: "Is this legal?"
Me: "I have a CARB sticker"
Tech: <looks at the sticker> "ok".

I passed my last test a week and a half ago with everything you see in my sig. I have to replace my cat every two years to pass the test. I ususally replace my stock O2 sensor as well. This last test, I had to clean out my intake manifold to pass the sniffer.

Weird thing that this came up today.
I was riveting my Bowser back together today and noticed that I had a GReddy Carb sticker on the AFM that I had stuck there when I installed the system. I hadn't even remembered that I had put it there or even what was written on the little bugger. Amazing what you notice after four years.
I'm gettin old boys..............
