Heat Shield
I've got a Bell Engineering-S kit for my '03. I noticed once or twice here that some people believe the Greddy heat shield will work with this kit (or just about any kit), but on any thread I saw it, no one verified, nor corrected these people. FM says it depends on the downpipe design. Will the Greddy shield work with a BEGi manifold, downpipe, and a GT2554R?

Eh. I wouldn't spend the $50. I know it didn't work for my greddy kit as soon as I used a 2.5" dp. I modified it to work, including popping one of the spot welds, drilling it, and bolting a spacer in to pry the metal apart and give it more room.
I would think it would take too much to be worth it. Just make your own. Begi doesn't sell one? They're huge with aluminum paneling. |
Yeah, they sell one, but I was seeing if I could save the $40 something. (shamefully)

Will it fit your 1.8 valve cover? It's meant for 1.6 only. Well the greddy kit is, so the heat shield is too. If you'd like some measurements, I could give you some. Real basic, measuring tape kind of measurements.

Nah, no but thank you.
I just called BEGI and had them add a heat shield to my order. |
diy ftw.
but if you can't, BEGi is the 2nd best option |
Sliced fingers ftw :D
Right after I install it and get the AFR right, I have a 220+ mile drive ahead of me - without a heat shield, i'll be worrying about finding the face of the guy from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where my brake master cylinder and heater lines were. |
where are you located? I have an NB heat shield from begi, could work for you. it won't fit on my car (1.6 na, i bought it as a shot in the dark)
