I am about to order a Greddy kit from www.horsepowerfreaks.com and since I live in Norway the shipppment costs are high.... :( Therefore I hope to manage with only one order from HPF this summer...

My problem is: What else than just the kit do you recomend to order? I am not very experienced in Miata tuning, so I need all the help I can get..

Everything that you can afford. I ordered as much as possible when I did order because my shipping is high as hell also. I would check over the site and get like a clutch, a BOV, I would look into getting a muffler to do custom exhaust (2.5" works great and will not be a bottle neck for the greddy), if you can afford it, a piggyback or a true stand alone. I have an emanage blue, and it works pretty well for the power levels that we will see. If the car will be down for a long period of time, look into megasquirt, but you will definately need a wideband O2 sensor no matter what you use. Ask wideopentuning if he can get you a deal on the wideband.

the greddy kit really is nothing special. if shipping is high, you might just want to do a diy kit. the only reason for buying a greddy kit is if you live in california really.

Get a wideband , greddy set and a walbro 190lph hp fuelpump.
Make your own intercooler setup using a saab 900 ic...(look at this site just for pics... )

Maybe a begi downpipe...

I can sell you the greddy for much cheaper than HPfreaks.. Not to step on anyone's toes.... they are 1322.93, and i could probably do it for like 1200, maybe cheaper, depending on how you're paying.

Olderguys O2 clamp, 190, LC1 wideband, bipes, begi adjustable FMU (sell the vortech). I don't see any other way. Don't forget the manifold cuts, etc... Then start working on an intercooler or Water injection.

How much do you plan on upgrading?

I know some people that are perfectly happy with the stock kit plus an aftermarket cross-over pipe (OEM plastic doesn't last). *You WILL need an aftermarket crossover (with fittings for a BOV) unless you plan to go the intercooler route*

If you are going my route (8-10lbs boost, eventually), then I would suggest:

Some sort of heat shield.

Upgrade the couplers and clamps

Cheap intercooler set-up

Olderguy O2 clamp

AEM UEGO Wideband (can be had for $255 new)

Bipes ACU or J&S Safeguard (if you're lucky to get one used for cheap)

BEGI or equivalent AFPR

Depending on the condition of your stock fuel pump, replace it with 190 pump.

DIY "Dual feed" rail mod

1.8 injectors.

The most expensive items (over $200) will probably be an intercooler set-up, whatever you use to retard timing, and the wideband sensor.

I've spent a little over $1500 for everything above (used greddy kit).

Water injection is overkill, imo for 10lbs and under.

WI can be used instead of an intercooler setup. I would just use the stock plastic crossover until you spend the money for an intercooler setup. If you spend money on a crossover pipe, you can sell it when you go intercooler, but thats a pain. My fuel pump had 29K on it and it was barely hitting 80 psi after two weeks. For $90, the 190 is great. I think I paid like $160 for the LC1 wideband but no gauge, using a laptop.
