injectors
would anybody know if the 440 injectors that came with the greddy turbo kit for a 02-05 honda civic si would work in a miata. i think hondas also use high imp. injectors. they are top feed. found a set of 4 for a really good price.

pics please.

And...Whats your set up
|
sorry no pics of the injectors. my setup is greddy turbo kit, fmic, and soon to be squirting as soon as i get injectors.
|
They will work insofar as that they are the correct physical size and are high-impedance.
Getting them to work *properly* will be difficult without an EMU, Megasquirt, or similar. I'm not going to say impossible because every time I do someone chimes in saying that they got 2000cc injectors to idle perfectly on nothing but a stock ECU and an RX-7 AFM (but took them out a week later). But with a stock ECU, getting 440s to run properly is going to be, shall we say, challenging. |
not sure if you read it, but he said he needs them to squirt.
|
Saw that, wasn't sure if that's what he meant.

Fa Sho.

so i guess the size of the injectors would work, now only have to see if the connectors are the same as the miata ones.

440s are too large for the factory ecu, no matter if your afm came from a miata, rx7, or the shuttle Endeavour. so you'd have to have some sort of good piggy or standalone engine management to use them.
you didn't say what brand injectors they are. if they're RC or similar, you'll need to wire in new injector clips to your harness. which is NBD. Ben |

yeah its going in with the mspnp. got the mspnp for 3 weeks already but still looking for injectors to get it setup.
|
you should get it installed before the injectors. make sure you can make everything work before adding in a second obstacle. go ahead and do it now, make sure stuff functions, and get comfortable with the interface while it's the simplest.

yeah i really should, but first i also need to get another time light. melted the wire on the current one. prolly going to take out the emanage blue and wire in the mspnp with the 305cc's for now and see how it runs. have to remind myself to buy that timing light. pretty soon theres going to be another emanage blue and supra 305's for sale.

Post a picture of the injector. Many of the aftermarket injectors use a common rectangular connector, and splicing it into the Miatas wiring is pretty simply. With the fuel rail and injectors removed, the injector harness is easy to remove. I just noticed that FM now sells a plug-in adaptor for the RC injectors they use:http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?...umber=04-46910 If your injectors use this connector and you want to pay someone else to do they work, just buy those. |
I remember that the honda injectors are basically the same..
EXCEPT..... Some of the hondas use a bigger pintle cap (squirter)end diameter that wont fit in a miata due to the miata having a smaller hole in the manifold...Miata and generic denso injectors will go in a honda with the correct o rings but honda injectors wont go in a miata....if the 440's you have are generic denso's then yes theyll fit..if they are spaecial honda ones then no they wont fit.You could drill out your manifold if you really want to use them. |
