Good Monday! Spent the past few nights in the garage installing my go-faster parts into my 2002 SE.

since a picture is worth a thousand words... and my fingers, arms, legs, back, and neck hurt... I'm not typing any more :)

Well, okay... a few comments... this first image is of the FLIR RV; they were giving a demo and for somer reason or another they found my office to be interesting. Talking about being watched, I could just imagine the thermal image of my scratching my nuts whilst thinking I am in private. Damn, aluminum mini-blinds aren't enough!

cool. Its threads like this that my me realize that my turbine housing is the most difficult to get on and off.

Why are you still running the afm if your running adaptronic? Or are you running it in parrallel?

18psi 07-01-2009 07:23 PM

You still dont need the afm running the adap in parallel.

and

HOLY WOW BATMAN!!!!!!!!:D:D:D Now THATS a whole crapload of parts going on all at once...Good luck:)

Prospero 07-02-2009 07:39 AM

I was just using the AFM to test my setup before installing the adaptronic. I wanted to make sure that I was able to idle and run the car after installing the turbo; but before I install injectors and new ECU. Sorta trying to make sure that when I start the car and it has a problem... I can isolate it rather than freak out.

Yeah, it was a bastard to get all that done in 3 days... with no lift... no help... and some lost tools. (Can't find my 17mm wrenches since doing the tranny swap on my 99! WTF, 14mm / 17mm / and 12mm wrenches all gone from my garage?)

So basically at this point I still have a Hard Dog bar to install, adaptronic to finish... and I'll, God willing, be driving her on the 4th!

Anyone wanna come help button it up?

Cheers,
Prospero

When are you turning wrenches again?

Planning on starting back on it tonight and work all through the weekend.

Trying to get it done before the wife is back in town. :)

Good looking. What is that phat downpipe flange, is that new design?
Just resize the pics a bit next time.

sicklyscott 07-02-2009 03:08 PM

Ok makes sense then as to why the AFM was there.

Had I known earlier you wanted some help I could have planned my friday better and came and helped you. Unforgrently I am stuck going out with friends to get fireworks in PA.

install looks good so far. amazing how much lighter that yellow is in the engine bay. you can almost see stuff. not so much with my dark black engine bay...

Prospero 07-03-2009 09:19 AM

Thanks all for the comments!

God willing I'll have her going this evening... been trying to get the energy to go out and work on the car but it's hard to do when you are tired as hell.

Anyhow, about the DP flange... this kit started life as a BEGi S kit when they first came out. So it has some wierdness to say the least. What's more is we built this kit at first to work on my 99 Auto car. So it was different and then some!

Prospero

Yeah, in my black car it felt like I was always needing more light. When I was working under the car, the yellow really made me feel less cramped and completely made my little droplight feel like a piece of the sun!

For sure, it is brighter; but on the flip side it shows dirt qickly too.

Cheers!

Wholly shit!!

Okay so about 11 last night I got the car running. Spent the day cleaning up loose ends like tucking in all of the wires and routing the oil / water lines in places where they look better.

So the Adaptronic install went great. Think the nasty part was doing the 600cc injectors... Kept dropping those damn fuel rail spacers just as I was gettings things lined up. The sweat covering my glasses surely didn't help matters much; but an hour later they were in and looking good.

Went to the wiring, plugged it all in as per the directions, connected the battery and fired up the laptop. Loaded WARI, the base map and fired the car!!! Fucking hell!!! It came to life after making some scary sounds; but after some cranking and a little forcing with the gas pedal we were idling.

Anyhow I am now ready to do the "tuning" but really need to read the manual since there is much more to this than meets the eyes.

Today, the coil overs and sways go in... then maybe the roll bar tomorrow.

Tuning us gonna happen later this morning when I wake up enough to RTFM.

Cheers,
Prospero

Talking about lost tools, thats why every now and then I spend a few bucks on having dobule of each socket, these cars can almost be taken apart with a 10,12,14 and a 17mm.

Car is looking good, thanks for the images!

read that manual twice man! it is pretty will written, but i still didn't get a lot of it the first time around.

I am free tomorrow, or part of today if you need an extra set of hands. Although it appears that you are doing a damn fine job by your self.
