Default I put a lightwieght flywheel and new clutch on my car and it's slower??????

I ran my car a couple of weeks ago and ran a 14.8 and was running 15.4's when my clutch was slipping a little. Haven't touched anything. Just put the FM Level 1 Happy Meal on my car and my average time was about 15.3. Also the car dont feel to pull as hard. 1st and 2nd have seemed to have lost a lot of power??????? Thanks ahead of time.

Re-connect the turbo's compressor outlet to the intake manifold.

What do you mean? Take the change pipes off and put them back on?

I don't know why. I am running 6 pounds of boost without any tuning. I thought the times were pretty good for what I have. I haven't seen anyone running much better with the setup I have. I want a megasquirt and injectors but just dont have the money right now. I was just trying to figure out why my car is running slower now and if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Woot, bandaids ftw. Well, ftl in your situation apparenty. Ignore the clutch and flywheel, it's obviously not your issue. Something else changed. Either with your car, settings, or track conditions

People don't run better than 15's on 6psi? I would hope something is wrong with the car, because that is pretty damn slow if you ask me. Start looking for something you left undone when you did the clutch install. Could be any little thing you overlooked. Flywheel and clutch shouldn't effect your time much if at all.

If it weren't for the AFM, I'd say Joe is on to something, can't an N/A miata run 15's? If the turbo was disconnected it wouldn't run at all.

How are your air/fuel ratios? I thought 1.6 injectors were really only good for 4.5-5psi.

What if the clutch disc was installed backwards? I know it would be very hard to do as there is a definate outer and inner but it is possible. The disc could be slipping.

How did you do the swap? Did you pull just the transmission off and nothing else?

A stock miata is in the high 16's, low 17's. I would expect mid 15's on a stock greddy kit. Hell, I'm running mid 14's on almost 200 wheel horse, and 6psi on his setup is probably only putting out about 160.

For some reason I was thinking people ran a little faster than that. Oh well, they aren't for drag anyway.

They can be in the 11 seconds, but need tons of power.

Well of course, but I meant people in the ~200whp range. I was thinking more like 14 flat-ish.

If you never post on this forum again, I guarantee you will drop a second eventually. If it doesn't happen immediately, don't stop trying - it will happen.
