Interest in replacement studs to fit FM / BEGi manifold?
Local friend crnrhrd installed an older FMII kit on his car about 2 months ago. Last weekend we removed the manifold and turbo to dig 3 broken studs out which wasn't a very fun task. Inspecting the old studs we believe they were very likely 5.8 grade standard run of the mill hardware store studs which may or may not have been originally installed in the manifold, considering we picked it up 2nd hand its hard to say. Basically what I dug out of the manifold was hardly better quality than threaded stock you could pickup from Lowes, I drilled through it with a 25 year old twist bit like a knife through liquid butter.
Unable to find a cheap solution for some slightly stronger studs we've come upon a supplier where we can get some 10.9 grade M8x1.25 stock to replace what came in FM/BEGi manifolds. We were curious if anyone on MT would be interested in buying some stronger studs. The standard length we're cutting them will be 35mm however we can take requests to cut special lengths. To cover our costs and time to cut and finish these studs we're looking at selling them for $5 a piece plus $5 to ship them. So 4 studs will run $25.00 shipped Priority Mail to your door step. Any takers? |
We sell those same studs at $1.25 each. The are 8 mm x 1.25 x 35 OAL, American grade 10.8. This is a fairly standard item and should not be so expensive.

Stephanie, do you also have the studs for the regular Begi S kit downpipe? I believe they are 43mm long.
I have a set of 35s at home that are way way too short. |
You can also get them at most auto parts stores. They are behind the counter items at advance auto.

i gotta try advanced auto, vatozone had no idea what studs even are.. they led me to the regular cheap steel bolts..

I bought mine at advance. 8mm 1.25 studs.
