Jackson airbox on FI miata.. been done?

Or am I going to be the first one to try it?

I think the extra cold air (EXTRA cold, winter's rolling in here..) should help a bit.

I know I'm going to need to flip the lower part around, and make a new charge pipe, before anyone points that out. :)

It might look cool and getting it to work will be worth some cool points but the turbo gets soooo hot that I think all increase in cool air will be negated by the heat from the turbo no matter what you have going into it. If you bought water injection like it says in your sig then I think installing that intake would be the last thing you would need to do. Though I could be wrong. If you're running an intercooler and WI i don't know that it will get much better unless you start spraying water on your IC for lower temps there. ( Which I see as a waste of time for most applications.)

NM.. did a little test fit today, won't work with PS. Damn.

I personally have nothing to back this up, but..

I feel the intake temperature actually does matter for turbo cars. Hotter it goes in, hotter on the way out? Probably matter less should you have massive overkill for an intercooler.

Feel free to discuss/destroy..

I think it matters, sure. Mainly, I like to try things (like when I "tried" to use a 99 Civic Type R's AEM V2 intake on my CRX.. but that came out nice :) ) to be different and stuff.

colder the air in, colder the air out!

I decided the only way to make this "work" is to redesign the bottom of the jackson box entirely. The AFM would have to come out at "2 o'clock", but I'm not sure it's worth that much trouble.
