Let me ask you.. WBo2 bung.. to close?!?

In this pic you can see the tip of the plug that is plugging the second o2 bung. The bung is on the opposite side of the pipe that is shown, this is the sellers pic.. I'm to lazy to take another pic since you can see where the bung is anyways.

Now to my question. I'm thinking judging by what I've read that the placement might be to close for my Aem Uego wbo2 sensor, what do you guys think. I really don't want to install another bung down near the cat if i don't have to, but if it will save my wbo2 sensor from failing up prematurely i surely will place it further down.

Let me know ;), thanks.

to close if you are installing it in the hole you have circled

Isn't it alot easier to put the Bung between the flex and Cat? The WB02 would feed thought the shift boot.

Yeah, your WB WILL fail if you put it that close to the turbo.

Fireindc 05-16-2008 06:20 PM

Yeah, figured. Already got it moved to right before the cat. Only cost me 10 bucks and about 15 mins, now.. install this weekend ;).

mine is there but i also have ceramic caoted stuff so far so good. They aren't 50k mile items anyway guys. I figure if i get close to 15-20k out of mine it is worth it.

IcantDo55 05-18-2008 11:40 PM

1K miles and mine is 5" from turbo. Guess its on borrowed time?

Dark Wanderer 05-18-2008 11:56 PM

I think AEM strongly suggest at least 18" from the turbo right?

big-pete 06-12-2008 06:49 PM

From what I remember, AEM sugguest the O2 be about 18" before the cat

The issue with wideband placement is about temperature. The cat is a bad place to measure from because its placement varies from car to car. The source of heat is the engine. That is why the AEM and LC-1 provide a recommended distance from the turbo/engine. The turbo can be assumed to be placed very close to the engine, so it is a good datum to use. The only recommendation related to the cat is to definitely install the WBO2 ahead of the cat so that you read correct AFR's.
