Looking for recommendation on boost
 

Hello all, I'm a noob and I picked up a clean '91 NA with stock everything, (except for a K&S intake kit, the one that sucks hot air off the engine). It has 99K miles on it. considering either a supercharger or turbo, based on ease of installation and tuning.

Goals:
1. gets the powertrain to output around 200HP at the wheels: I'd like to add acceleration and a better top end (I haven't got it over 120 MPH), but I'd like to keep the rest stock.
2. is easy to install without having to do any metal fabrication: I don't have a lot of free time.
3. Doesn't empty my wallet.

So some of you all may remember when you were a noob and someone gave you good advice. I'm all ears. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. What part of the world are you located in?

For your goals I would recommend the MK Turbo kit. He's a vendor here.

What's your intended use of the car? Track days, daily driving, or weekender?

If you think the MK Turbo kit is too expensive, don't bother with turbocharging, any kit that's cheaper will cost you more in the long run as you replace components when they fail or simply prove to be inadequate (especially manifolds).
The MK Turbo kit is produced by a forum member and has been bought by many forum members so you know it's proven to be rugged and reliable, otherwise you'd hear about it here.

+1 for the MK kit here as well. If you go with a cheaper kit you'll probably have to fabricate or customize. Lars does a good job of getting you everything you need to make it fairly simple.

If your location is correct, there are plenty of us in metro Detroit that have done mild to moderate builds. The local FB page as well as this site should help with anything you could possibly need.
Read through a couple build threads if you have the time.

Another MK owner here. Over 3 years with no issues. One of the great things about the kit is you get everything, including exhaust, all parts fit the way they're supposed to and everything is brand new. The only reasonable way to do it cheaper is to piecemeal a bunch of used stuff of unknown quality.
