Turbo XS RFL is loud. Although HKS is louder because of its higher pitch.

If you hook up both ports on a greddy r-type it is pretty damn loud (unhooking the 2nd port makes it quiet). My wife says you can hear my BOV way down the street before you can hear my 3' long exhaust that goes from DP to cherry bomb. You can hear it in this video:

The rfl is way louder than a ssqv at high boost pressures.

Also Rmcelwee, is there a specific vaccume line you should use to hook up the second port, i use the bottom port on the bov and hook it straight to the intake manifold, im assuming you hook the top one up somewhere closer to the turbine?

my greddy type R isn't very loud... but that's at 9 psi.

the noise is turbulence. meaning restriction. the type R is more about flow than noise.

Turbosmart Megasonic, even at low 8 psi it's loud as ****.The TurboXS RFL does not even compare to this when it comes down to niose and flow.

Wow its really loud! I could have mistaken the sound. for spinning no grip tire shifting!

But isn't supposed that the BPV be quieter than BOV?

Ack. Thats number one of the two sounds I hate from a bov... the second is compressor surge.

Which valve do you have?

Duck calls taped to a BOV are hella loud and obnoxious. Go for it.

The top port is hooked to the compressor and the bottom port is hooked to the vac port post throttle body (or the other way around <G>). It is that huge differential pressure which makes the difference in sound.

Do you have both ports hooked up? I'm just curious if the 9 psi vs 15 psi makes that big a difference in sound.

at about :26 you can hear it while scott's got his head under the hood. I do have both ports hooked up. you can also hear it about :36 when it whistles as it gets close to atmospheric.

It was advertised as a bypass valve for a 1.8T. I'm running it as a VTA BOV.

My SSQ is quite compaired to the RFL i had on my SR20...The SSQ is higher pitched, but I think is sounds sweet

RFL would make people jump on the side of the road...
