I just bought this boost controller
How would i hook it up?

It says on it "Arrow points toward wastegate actuator"

I tried hooking it up in between turbo and wastegate but was making way too much boost at lowest level.I made my engine ping had to take it off

all the way loose is the lowest setting. If still too much boost, then remove the spring and cut a coil untill you can make better adjustments.

it was hooked up right?

it may have been hooked up backwards. a backwards MBC can cause the wg actuator to never open the wg.

It's a ball and spring type pressure regulator. If you hooked it up revers you would get no signal to the wastegate and too much boost.
