MazdaSpeed plugs

OK, I know a lot of you guys like to replace your plugs yearly, but I like the platimum plugs with their better durability. Anyways, will the Bosch platimum #4202 plug that lists for the MS turbo work in our Greddy 1.6?
TIA

I dont have an answer but i'll just chime in for anyone who searches and finds this thread later on:

I would recommend the NGKs.. I believe its like B7KRE-11.... its on their page listed as the UK turbo miata (eunos) plugs. Besides.. they are only $1.77 each. I think there is a platium equiv.

bripab007 09-28-2006 11:14 AM

Or the just the plain B7KRE if you want them to come pre-gapped at .035".

Mach929 09-28-2006 11:29 AM

i read something over on .net about the mazdaspeed plugs, should work fine, been thinking about getting some myself. that #4202 you gave, are they pregapped?

Ben 09-28-2006 11:46 AM

the gap feeler tool thingy is pretty inexpensive. no reason to not have one in your toolbox.

Braineack 09-28-2006 11:50 AM

just get BKR7Es

Pitlab77 09-28-2006 12:33 PM

ZFR-7F11 is what you want

bripab007 09-28-2006 01:05 PM

Extended reach gapped at .044"?

Wouldn't the extended reach have a similar affect to advancing timing? And .035" gap is what's recommended...at least at higher boost levels.

Braineack 09-28-2006 01:23 PM

I think extended reaches are not recommended for FI applications.

Mach929 09-28-2006 02:05 PM

I have a couple different kinds of spark plug gapping tools but i was under the impression that those types of plugs couldn't really be changed without risk of breaking the electrodes

Arkmage 09-28-2006 10:24 PM

Don't run bosch plugs... the rest of their stuff is damn good... but as a former employee I wouldn't touch their plugs.

Pitlab77 09-29-2006 01:56 PM

most people ran the ZFR's on their turbo miatas on M.net a long time ago. Do some searches, there is nothing wrong with running them

bripab007 09-29-2006 02:03 PM

There might not be "anything wrong" with them, but what's the point of extended reach? My thinking is that it'd slightly increase timing...you can have more precise control over that with other methods, so I don't get using them.

I run them, no problems ever:)

bripab007 09-29-2006 03:44 PM

So...uh...why do you run them?

bripab007 09-29-2006 03:45 PM

Need the info.

bripab007 09-29-2006 03:45 PM

Feel like I'm surrounded by frickin' idiots!

Ya know, the first Austin Powers flick was so much better than the sequels...just fyi.

So, uh, you just saw them and bought them? On a whim?
