My car is too fast
Hehe.....I'll always want it to be faster though. I dusted an R6 getting on my local onramp. Guy pulled next to me at the next intersection down the road and wanted to know whats under the hood.....I told him 1600cc's of fury. I asked him what year R6. 2001. It was from a roll on, and I kinda surprised myself. Never really knew my car could keep up with a sport bike. I basically walked by him from a 20mph roll. I was running my new helper spring setup and I was holding 12psi with my w/m injection mapping complete.....pulls like a freight train. Local dyno shut down, so my only option is Mich. to see what she's putting down. I'm pretty sure I'm over the 200rwhp mark now.

Damn pulling a R6 is a feat congrats I am also happy your WMI is running right :bigtu:
|
don't want to burst your bubble, but the guy on the bike was a squid
a good rider on an r6 would be all over a sub 250 whp miata. |
Yeah, something tells me he wasn't really trying. 200rwhp Miatas are quick, but not that quick.
Go beat up on an STI or something to make yourself feel better, though. :D |
yeah, a good rider will easily walk a 200whp Miata.
|
your car is slow and he wasn't trying.
Don't believe me? That R6 has ~105 hp and weighs ~400lbs your miata has whatev HP and weighs ~2000 pounds. |
And C5's run 13s according to Car and Driver yet the one at the dragstrip tonight was running high 9's/low 10's in the eighth mile, just like my pos civic was doing. Races happen in the real world. You may have been lucky, but it still counts. With the miata, I lost to a friend driving a heavily modded EVO by only 0.01 seconds because he messed up. If I would have beat him, I would have gotten a big ass trophy. :vash:
I could a been somebody! |
Well maybe he is hitting in the 300 whp range. The R6 is a 11 second bike when done right, 10 when done extrordinary. But still even if he kept it in OD and reved it. He would put up a hell of a fight for a 200whp miata. Still it is always good to see someone who has there shit running right :D
I think a 13 sec 1/4 is about = to a low 9 sec, and 8's will get you in the 12's if you do it right. |
105hp/400lbs = 577hp/2200lbs
My spoon is too big. |
you forgot to add the rider's weight :)
|
doh!

I'm sure he would of left me in the dust if it was from a standstill. But he was impressed none the less. Not really an ego speed guy, I know what can beat me and what can't, so I'll take this one to the grave and count myself lucky.:bigtu:

Very true, and thats why I can't stand the civic forums. My point is that at the end of the night at the dragstrip, often the fastest car doesn't win. Of course, the lovefab nsx does always win the import class because it has 700whp, but thats a different story. (He's promised to not compete one time to give me a chance next summer.) Almost anyone in a fast car could beat me on a bike because I'm a complete wuss when I'm on one, and it belongs to someone else...

Yes it is philip or we wouldn't be here.

Who has had their Miata on corner weighting scales to see what it really weighs?
|
I have read most miatas to be about 2300lbs with gas in them. Roberts car is 1900 lbs last time he weighed it i believe.
