ND1 Engine - Upgrades to Support High Boost

What are the weak points of the engine, specifically when using high boost?

Can the axles and other drivetrain parts handle it?

I’m shooting for 300 hp.

What does the total cost of a 300 rwhp look like?

I think the glass gearbox will be your biggest worry…

This. Even updating to the ND2 box isn't a sure thing, assuming the OP is on a manual. I think SB Garage worked with Quaife to develop a QBE60G kit. Or he can go auto trans.

Thanks for the replies.

I don’t have a Miata. I’m looking for my next project though.

Cheaper to build a 300whp NA/NB with a K24 swap and turbo with a BMW transmission. Maybe 20k including the donor for a nice build.

NC2/3 bottom end and built 6 spd will handle 300whp. We're building one ourselves. https://www.miataturbo.net/build-thr...ck-toy-105460/

Possible to build the ND you describe but it won't be cheap. I don't know of any 300whp transmission solution. Mazda motorsports also has a Sadev sequential kit for MX5 cup but I'm not sure what it's rated for.

If your heart is set on the ND, BBR makes a kit to allow you to put an NC transmission into an ND.

1. Buy ND2 and put NC gearbox in it.
and
2. Use skinny tyres that spin all the power away.
or
3. Put turbo on NC3.
